Hylo Care
Active ingredient: Sodium hyaluronate 1 mg/ml and dexpanthenol

For moistening and supporting the healing of a damaged eye surface, e.g. as a result of dry eyes or after surgical procedures. Sterile, phosphate-free solution without preservatives.

Please read this information carefully, as it will help you to use Hylo Care correctly.

What is Hylo Care?
Hylo Care is a sterile, preservative-free solution with 1 mg/ml sodium hyaluronate, dexpanthenol, a citrate buffer and water.

What is Hylo Care used for?
For moistening and supporting the healing of a damaged eye surface, e.g. as a result of dry eyes or after surgical procedures.

When should Hylo Care be used?
Maintaining and restoring the health of the eye also includes the constant moistening of the external tissues, conjunctiva and cornea. In the best case, this function is fulfilled by our tears. However, it can happen that the natural tears are not sufficient or are only present in a disturbed composition. Then the eye reacts with redness, itching, foreign body sensation, a burning sensation or rapid fatigue. These signs of a disturbed supply of natural tears can occur in dry, air-conditioned environments, be the result of drug treatment or be a sign of ageing. The cells of the conjunctiva and cornea are constantly being renewed and this regeneration process only takes place optimally in a moist environment. Therefore, it is important that the eye surface is sufficiently moistened even after surgical procedures on the eye so that the wounds can heal optimally. In all these cases, it makes sense to intensively moisturise the eye by using Hylo Care and thus restore the natural moisture balance. Hylo Care contains the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that is found in the eye, but also in other parts of the body. It has the special physical property of forming an even, stable and particularly long-lasting moisture film on the surface of the eye without being rinsed off quickly. This means that the moisturising effect lasts for a particularly long time without impairing your vision. Therefore, you can use Hylo Care without any problems during the day, when, for example, eye ointments cannot be used because of their greasy consistency, which leads to blurred vision. In addition, Hylo Care contains dexpanthenol, which belongs to the large group of B vitamins. This ingredient meets the eye's need for intensive regeneration and supports the moisturising properties of sodium hyaluronate in a meaningful way. Dexpanthenol also has wound-healing properties. This means that small superficial damage to the eye caused by a lack of tear film heals more quickly, as do wounds that are a necessary consequence of a surgical procedure on the eye. Hylo Care thus not only ensures sufficient moistening of the eye, but also ensures good regeneration of the cornea and conjunctiva.

How to use Hylo Care?
Only use Hylo Care if the seal of the folding box was intact before first use. Remove the cap before each use. To do this, hold the cap just above the bottle and pull the bottle away from the cap with a twisting motion with your other hand. Please hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing vertically downwards before using Hylo Care for the first time and press the bottom of the bottle so often until the first drop comes out of the tip of the bottle. The bottle is then ready for use for the following applications. Hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing downwards by placing your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle and your other fingers on the bottom of the bottle. Support the hand with the Comod bottle on your free hand. Tilt your head back slightly, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye with your free hand and press quickly and firmly in the middle of the bottom of the bottle. This activates the mechanism for removing a drop. Due to the special valve technology of the Comod system, the size and speed of the drop are always the same, even if the bottom of the bottle is pressed very hard. Slowly close your eyes so that the liquid can spread evenly over the surface of the eye. After use, close the dropper tip carefully with the cap immediately. Please make sure that the dropper tip is dry. Avoid contact of the dropper tip with the eye or facial skin when dripping. 10 ml of solution can be removed from the bottle; this corresponds to approximately 300 drops. For production reasons, a small amount of liquid always remains in the bottle. The contents of one bottle of Hylo Care should always be used by the same person.

What other instructions for use should be observed?
In the event of additional other medicinal treatment with eye drops, an application interval of at least 30 minutes should be observed. Hylo Care should then always be administered last. Eye ointments should always be applied to the conjunctival sac after Hylo Care. Due to its preservative-free nature, Hylo Care is particularly well tolerated even with long-term use. You can therefore use it over a longer period of time. In very rare individual cases, hypersensitivity reactions (burning, tearing) have been reported, which subsided immediately after discontinuation of Hylo Care. Hylo Care can be used while wearing contact lenses. We recommend waiting about 30 minutes after inserting contact lenses before using the eye drops to avoid possible intolerance reactions due to interactions between contact lens care products and Hylo Care. Based on the available findings, Hylo Care can also be used in children, pregnant and breastfeeding women.

How often and for how long should Hylo Care be used?
Hylo Care should be dosed individually according to your condition and the recommendation of your ophthalmologist or pharmacist. In general, you should drop 1 drop of Hylo Care into the conjunctival sac of each eye 3 times a day. In case of more severe symptoms, Hylo Care can be dripped more often during the day. If you use Hylo Care more frequently (e.g. more than 10 times a day), have your eyes examined by your ophthalmologist. Hylo Care is suitable for continuous use, however, as with all diseases, you should consult an ophthalmologist if symptoms persist.

When should Hylo Care not be used?
Hylo Care should not be used if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.

What instructions should be observed for storing Hylo Care?
Do not store above 25°C. Hylo Care can be used for 6 months after opening a bottle. Do not use after the expiry date. Keep out of reach of children.
