1. WHAT ARE MONAPAX DROPS AND WHAT ARE THEY USED FOR?

Monapax drops are a homeopathic medicine for respiratory diseases. The areas of application are derived from the homeopathic medicinal product images. This includes: Cough.

2. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE TAKING MONAPAX DROPS?

Monapax drops must not be taken:

• if you are hypersensitive to quinine.
• if you are hypersensitive to any of the other active or inactive ingredients of Monapax drops.

Special care should be taken when taking Monapax drops in the case of persistent symptoms, shortness of breath, fever over 39 °C or purulent or bloody sputum. In these cases, a doctor should be consulted.

When taking Monapax drops with other medicines

The effect of anticoagulants (medicines that inhibit blood clotting) can be increased if taken at the same time. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.

When taking Monapax drops with food and drink

General note

The effect of a homeopathic medicine can be adversely affected by generally harmful factors in the lifestyle and by stimulants and luxuries.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

As there is insufficient documented experience, Monapax drops should only be used after consulting a doctor.

Driving and using machines

No special precautions are required.

Important information about certain other ingredients of Monapax drops

Monapax drops contain 32.8% alcohol by volume.

3. HOW TO TAKE MONAPAX DROPS?

Always take Monapax drops exactly as described in this leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is:

• Acute illnesses: Every half to whole hour, up to 6 times a day according to the dosage table below.
• Chronic illnesses: 1–3 times a day according to the dosage table below.

When symptoms improve, the frequency of use should be reduced. Toddlers take the mixture diluted with liquid (water, tea, milk), children, adolescents and adults undiluted. Since the active ingredients of Monapax drops are well absorbed by the oral mucosa, the liquid should be left in the mouth for a while before swallowing. The intake is distributed over the day at as regular intervals as possible. The duration of use depends on the therapeutic necessity or the duration of the illness. Use for more than one week should only be after consultation with a homeopathically experienced therapist.

General note

Occasional cloudiness or flocculation that occurs in natural products does not affect the effect. Shake well before each use. Hold the bottle upright to remove.

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Monapax drops is too strong or too weak.

If you have taken more Monapax drops than you should

Even in the case of overdose, no harmful effects are to be expected due to the dilution levels. In the event of severe overdose, alcohol-related symptoms may occur. Taking the entire contents of the bottle of 20 ml or 50 ml will result in the ingestion of 5.18 g or 12.94 g of alcohol, respectively.

If you forget to take Monapax drops

If you forget to take a dose, you should take it as soon as possible and then continue with the prescribed or recommended dosage.

If you have any further questions about the use of the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, Monapax drops can have side effects, although not everybody gets them.

The following frequency information is used to assess side effects:
Very common:	more than 1 in 10 treated
Common:	1 to 10 in 100 treated
Uncommon:	1 to 10 in 1,000 treated
Rare:	1 to 10 in 10,000 treated
Very rare:	less than 1 in 10,000 treated
Not known:	frequency cannot be estimated from the available data.

Important side effects or signs to watch out for, and what to do if you are affected

Hyperthyroidism can be exacerbated. Occasionally, hypersensitivity reactions such as skin allergies or fever may occur after taking quinine-containing medicines. In rare cases, an increased tendency to bleed due to a decrease in platelets (thrombocytopenia) can be observed. In these cases, a doctor should be consulted immediately. Note: Sensitization to quinine or quinidine is possible. If side effects occur, please inform your doctor so that they can take the necessary measures. Note: When taking a homeopathic medicine, existing symptoms may temporarily worsen (initial aggravation). In this case, you should stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects not listed in this leaflet. 5. HOW TO STORE MONAPAX8 DROPS?

Keep medicines out of the reach of children! Do not use the medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label and carton after "Use by". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month. Storage conditions: No special storage conditions are required for this medicine. Note on shelf life after opening: After opening the bottle, Monapax drops can be stored for 6 months at room temperature. Please do not use the opened pack after this period.

The active ingredients are: 10 g (equivalent to 10.4 ml) mixture contain: Drosera Ø 0.01 g, Hedera helix Ø 0.02 g, China Ø 0.01 g, Coccus cacti Ø 0.02 g, Cuprum sulfuricum Dil. D4 1.0 g, Ipecacuanha Dil. D4 1.0 g, Hyoscyamus Dil. D4 1.0 g. The other ingredients are: Ethanol, purified water.
