1. WHAT IS EUMINZ AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Euminz is a herbal medicinal product for the external treatment of headaches. Euminz is used: for external use in the case of mild and moderate tension-type headaches.

2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE USING EUMINZ?

Euminz must not be used:

• if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to peppermint oil or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
• in infants and small children, as asthma-like conditions may occur when the vapours are inhaled.

Warnings and precautions

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Euminz. Do not apply Euminz to mucous membranes or injured skin. Do not get in eyes. In case of contact with eyes or mucous membranes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of lukewarm water. Note: If symptoms persist, are unclear or new symptoms occur, a doctor should be consulted, as these may be due to conditions that require medical clarification.

Use of Euminz with other medicines

No interactions are known to date. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using or have recently used other medicines or if you intend to use other medicines.

Use of Euminz with food and drink

No restrictions are known to date.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using any medicine.

Driving and using machines

No special precautions are required.

3. HOW TO USE EUMINZ?

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this package leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Unless otherwise prescribed, apply Euminz evenly to the forehead and temples of adults and children aged 6 and over using the applicator. The application process can be repeated several times at intervals of 15 minutes if necessary. Whether the application more than three times influences the pain has not yet been investigated. If there is no improvement within 2 hours of starting the application, the treatment should be discontinued. Euminz can also be used for frequent tension headaches. The note under "Warnings and precautions" should be observed. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Euminz is too strong or too weak.

If you have used more Euminz than you should

An overdose is not to be expected due to the intended application.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, Euminz can have side effects, although not everybody gets them. Burning and reddening of the skin may occur in sensitive individuals, which subside after thorough rinsing with water. In rare cases (1 to 10 out of 10,000 people treated), peppermint oil can cause allergic skin reactions. In these cases, the treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.

Reporting of side effects

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects not listed in this package leaflet. You can also report side effects directly to the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices, Department of Pharmacovigilance, Kurt-Georg-Kiesinger Allee 3, D-53175 Bonn, website: www.bfarm.de. By reporting side effects, you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.

5. HOW TO STORE EUMINZ?

Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and the container. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated. Storage conditions: Do not store above 25ºC.

6. CONTENTS OF THE PACK AND OTHER INFORMATION

What Euminz contains

The active ingredient is: peppermint oil. 10 ml solution for application to the skin contains: peppermint oil (Menthae piperitae aetheroleum) 0.81 g. The other ingredient is: ethanol.

What Euminz looks like and contents of the pack

Euminz is a clear, colourless solution for application to the skin. Euminz is available in original packs of 10 ml solution. Hospital packs with 100 ml (10 x 10 ml) solution are also available for clinical use.
