Cumin is an aromatic spice that is used in many dishes in Indian, oriental, African and South American cuisine. When roasted, it develops a slightly nutty, strong-bittersweet aroma. Falafel gets its oriental touch from cumin, but soups, salads, pastries and meat dishes can also be refined with it.
