Bepanthen Eye Drops
Eye drops with sodium hyaluronate 0.15% and dexpanthenol 2%

Description

Bepanthen Eye Drops form a sterile, preservative-free, viscoelastic, clear protective film for the cornea. Bepanthen Eye Drops contain sodium hyaluronate, the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, which, due to its special physical property, forms a uniform, stable, and particularly long-lasting protective film on the cornea without impairing vision. In addition, Bepanthen Eye Drops contain provitamin B5 (dexpanthenol), which, due to its high water-binding capacity, has the ability to moisturize and additionally care for the eye. This effectively supports the moisture-retaining properties of sodium hyaluronate.

The combination of sodium hyaluronate (tear film stabilizing) and dexpanthenol (nourishing, soothing) protects and moisturizes the eye surface and makes it smooth. This provides long-lasting relief from discomfort associated with

• mechanical stress, e.g., when wearing hard or soft contact lenses or during diagnostic procedures on the eye,
• environmental stress, e.g., from air conditioning, wind, cold, dryness, or air pollution, for example, from cigarette smoke, or in cases of
• strained eyes, e.g., when working at computer screens, microscopes, or during long car journeys.

Due to their preservative-free nature, Bepanthen Eye Drops are particularly well tolerated even with long-term use. Bepanthen Eye Drops are also suitable for contact lens wearers.

Application

1. Separate a single-dose container. Make sure that each single-dose container is undamaged.
2. To open, twist off the flat end of the single-dose container (do not pull).
3. Tilt your head back slightly, look up, gently pull the lower eyelid away from the eye, and instill one drop into the conjunctival sac of the eye 3–5 times daily as needed. Slowly close your eyes so that the liquid can spread evenly over the surface of the eye.

Composition

Sodium hyaluronate 0.15%, dexpanthenol 2%, sodium chloride, disodium phosphate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate, water for injections.

Pack sizes

20 x 0.5 ml single-dose containers and 1 x 10 ml multi-dose bottle.

Precautions and warnings:

• Do not use if the single-dose container or foil packaging is damaged.
• Do not touch the eye with the single-dose container.
• Do not use if you have a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
• In very rare cases, the use of eye drops can lead to irritation in very sensitive eyes.
• Intended for single use only. Since Bepanthen Eye Drops do not contain preservatives, any remaining solution must not be used again.
• If you are also using other eye drops/eye ointments, an interval of 15 minutes should be observed between applications. Bepanthen Eye Drops should always be administered last.
• Do not use on infected or injured eyes.
• After application, visual acuity may be temporarily reduced; in this case, do not drive a vehicle, operate machinery, and wait until normal visual acuity has returned.
• Do not use the eye drops after the expiry date. This can be found imprinted on each single-dose container, on each sealed pouch, and on the folding carton.
• Bepanthen Eye Drops contain phosphate buffer. In very rare cases, with significant damage to the corneal surface, long-term use of Bepanthen Eye Drops can lead to the precipitation of calcium salts.
• If no improvement occurs or if symptoms worsen, consult your ophthalmologist.

Storage

Store at 2°C to 25°C. Protect from frost. Please always store the pouches in the folding carton.
