A great Loire classic

The Pouilly-Fumé from de Ladoucette is undoubtedly one of the great classics of this appellation. With each vintage, the winery underlines its exceptional position on the upper Loire. The wine convinces with its complex aroma of fresh herbs and gooseberries with delicate hints of flint.

At 9 degrees Celsius as an aperitif with noble fish, e.g. fried turbot with risotto, poultry and fresh goat's cheese.

Where the Loire flows through one of the most charming landscapes in France, past magnificent castles, is also the famous Château du Nozet of Baron de Ladoucette. Family-owned since 1787, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette took over the already largest winery in Pouilly-sur-Loire in 1972 and brought it to success with new ideas. "De Ladoucette" has become synonymous with the finest white wines from the Loire all over the world.

The most famous wine from de Lacoucette is undoubtedly the "Baron de L", which was first pressed in 1972. This single-varietal Sauvignon Blanc became the epitome of a great Pouilly Fumé from the Loire. Produced only in very good years, this modern classic adorns many wine lists of top restaurants worldwide. The Sauvignon Blanc vines for the Sancerre Comte Lafond grow on the steep slopes below the village of Sancerre, which slope down to the east and south. The strongly calcareous soil gives the wines freshness, elegant finesse and a mineral character.
