After three generations as a royal purveyor of Port wine, "Corrêa Ribeiro e Filhos" was taken over by Clemente da Silva in 1933. The old wine company belonged to his wife's family and Clemente da Silva led it to international fame under the name C. da Silva. Presidential Port wines come from the world's oldest, protected wine-growing region, the Douro Valley, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
