The fruity, single-concentrated tomato paste is suitable for sauces and gravies. It gives dishes a round Mediterranean flavor, as it is made from ripe tomatoes. The vintage label is a real eye-catcher.

Getting really fruity, aromatic tomatoes outside the tomato season is a real challenge even in Italy. An exception in this respect is the San Marzano tomato with protected designation of origin. These San Marzano tomatoes are an endangered variety that is not suitable for industrial processing due to their delicate texture and therefore has to be laboriously hand-picked.

These cans contain real San Marzano tomatoes from Campania. Our producer Il pomodoro più buono has the tomatoes hand-picked when ripe and then preserves them in a water bath at exactly 100 degrees. There is no better way to capture the tomato flavor for perfect sauces. The cherry tomatoes from Sicily receive the same care and have all the flavor of ripe, aromatic tomatoes grown on volcanic soils.
