Teufelroller, also known as Rollmops - Fine herring fillets in a spicy marinade
Rollmops is closely related to Bismarck herring. Bismarck herring are pickled herring fillets, which, in contrast to Rollmops, are not filled. The herring is placed in a hot salt and sugar marinade, which preserves it.
About the producer:
The company C. Warhanek was a traditional food company that produced marinades and smoked fish. It was founded in 1858 by the Austrian-Czech entrepreneur Carl Warhanek (1829–1900), who, through his business acumen and innovative ideas, became a K & K purveyor to the court. Today, Warhanek specialities include exquisite smoked salmon products as well as pickled fish products such as Gabelroller and Russen.
