Bründlmayer Winery
Willi Bründlmayer runs the family winery together with his wife Edwige, Thomas Klinger and Andreas Wickhoff, Master of Wine.
"There is precious truth in wine: it tells of the soil, of the heat, the cold, the storm and the rain, of the landscape and also of the people with whom it has to do."
Willi Bründlmayer
For Willi Bründlmayer, the ecological balance is of great importance, because at the same time as he joined his parents' winery, a policy of consciously ecological viticulture was initiated.
For more than 40 years, all of the family's vineyards have been sustainably managed, free from chemical fertilisers and herbicides (such as the currently hotly debated "Roundup"), and have also been organically farmed since 2015, and the natural resources, soil, sun, water, plants are used simply and as intelligently as possible.
The "confusion method" with sexual attractants works across the board in the winery's most important sites, so that no further plant protection is required against the dreaded hay and sour worms.
Exhausted vineyards are cleared and left fallow for several years to allow the soil to recover.
