Inspiring text: The 2019 La Rioja Alta Aster Crianza Tempranillo Ribera del Duero DO is an intense red wine with a dark red rim and a radiant robe. Its bouquet reveals forest notes and black fruits such as blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry jam, enveloped in mocha, confectionery and spices such as black pepper, liquorice and cloves. On the palate it is lively and fresh, with characteristic fine and soft tannins of the Ribera del Duero wines. The aftertaste is fresh and powerful, beautifully rounded off with a very pleasant finish. An elegant wine with balance and excellent ageing potential.

Grape variety: 100% Tinta del País (Tempranillo)

Colour: Deep crimson with a garnet rim, clear and bright

Nose: Aromas of black fruits, blackcurrants and blackberries, with sweet spices, fine herbs and liquorice in the background.

Taste: Powerful on the palate, fruity expression, smooth with hints of spices. The finish is balanced and structured, with pleasant acidity and the characteristic mineral notes of our terroir.

Food Pairing: Recommended with starters, vegetable and rice dishes, poultry and game birds, fish stews, mature cheese, roast lamb and suckling lamb.

With care and patience, they searched for the perfect location in Ribera del Duero, which they found in Anguix, Burgos. Since the foundation of La Rioja Alta, S.A. in 1890, their descendants have continuously pursued the quest for excellence. The wines, marked by a careful selection of exclusive grapes and a slow ageing process, are characterised by elegance, complexity and finesse. The ageing takes place in more than 30,000 American oak barrels, which are made by in-house coopers, and reflects the winery's responsibility and passion for wines with personality and soul.
