MOILLARD GRIVOT SIGNATURE FUT DE CHENE CHARDONNAY
Designation: AOP Bourgogne - Chardonnay
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
Growing area: The grapes come mainly from the sunny plots of the Mâconnais, a region in the south of Burgundy, which is known for its excellent climatic conditions. Here, the grapes thrive under optimal conditions and develop an exceptional ripeness and fullness.
Vinification: The traditional winemaking process comprises several steps: After pressing, the grape musts are settled by experienced winemakers, who have been partners of the winery for many years. The best musts are carefully selected and blended together to create the cuvée. This is put into yeast and cooled to 15 °C. The mixture is then transported into 228-litre barrels, where the alcoholic fermentation takes place. The wine then matures in the barrels for 10 months, followed by a natural malolactic fermentation, which contributes to the complexity of the wine.
Soil type: Limestone and calcareous soils offer ideal conditions for the growth of Chardonnay vines. These soils promote the development of the fresh and mineral notes typical of the region.
Origin: FRANCE
Sensory characteristics
Colour: The wine shows a pale yellow, shiny colour with radiant golden reflections, which indicate the ageing in oak barrels.
Nose: A complex bouquet unfolds in the nose, combining aromas of vanilla with roasted notes. These harmonise with floral scents as well as fruity hints of peach and almonds, which give the wine an inviting freshness.
Palate: On the palate, the wine presents itself as round and powerful. The well-integrated acidity gives the taste a pleasant freshness, while the long-lasting finish rounds off the experience and leaves the aromas lingering in the memory.
Recommendations
This Chardonnay goes excellently with dishes such as fish in cream sauce or poultry. It also unfolds its full potential in combination with creamy pasta variations or mildly spiced dishes.
Drinking temperature: Ideal at 10-12 °C, to bring out the fresh and complex aromas optimally.
Alcohol content: 12.5%
