Experience the soothing effect of a wrap with Retterspitz Äußerlich with the Retterspitz Wickel-Starterset. The wrap helps naturally with strains, bruises, joint swellings and similar ailments. It contains: Retterspitz Äußerlich (350 ml), Retterspitz wrap for neck and smaller joints and wrap instructions.

Retterspitz Äußerlich - Instructions for use

Trade name, dosage form

Retterspitz Äußerlich, liquid for external use.

Ingredients

Purified water, thymol, rosemary oil, lemon oil, bergamot oil, orange blossom oil, arnica tincture, tartaric acid, citric acid monohydrate, alum, denatured, hardened, germ-free chicken egg, medical soap, macrogolglycerolhydroxystearate, ethanol.

Dosage form and content

Retterspitz Äußerlich is available in bottles of 350 ml and 1 litre as a liquid for external use.

What is Retterspitz Äußerlich and what is it used for?
It is to be used for supportive physical therapy:

• for painful swelling conditions after endoprosthetic and vascular prosthetic care.
• for consequences of injuries, including ligament sprains, strains of the anterior thigh muscles, distortions.
• for inflammations, e.g. after vascular removals.
• for fever.
• after surgical care for fractures of the upper or lower leg, which have been treated with osteosynthesis, for soft tissue interventions on the shoulder, amputations, revision interventions after complications.
• for regeneration after sports injuries.
• for chronic polyarthritis, activated arthrosis, soft tissue rheumatic pain syndrome, fibromyalgia syndrome, haematomas, swelling conditions on the joints.
• for mastitis and milk stasis.
• for wound healing, also for inflammatory and chronic wounds such as Ulcus cruris.

What do you need to consider before using Retterspitz Äußerlich?
Check whether there is a hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to an ingredient of Retterspitz Äußerlich.

What do you need to consider when using Retterspitz Äußerlich?
If the bottle is left standing for a longer period of time, sediment will form, which must be distributed by shaking vigorously before each use. The sediment is caused by the natural and unavoidable flocculation of protein, it is part of the normal appearance of the product. The flakes are formed by the manufacturing process of hardened, denatured and germ-free excipients from protein and fresh chicken egg. This complex is coarsely dispersed and colloidally dissolved. In this state, it has its largest possible surface area for attachment. Retterspitz Äußerlich should not be used in direct temporal succession after skin-irritating plasters on the same area. It should not be used on powdered or greasy skin areas.

Special caution when using Retterspitz Äußerlich

Retterspitz Äußerlich should be used diluted with fresh water in case of strong skin reactivity, e.g. in fair-skinned, blonde, red-haired persons. The degree of predilution is based on the patient's sensitivity, because the freshly applied wrap must not burn. A second, clean, sealable bottle is used to prepare the predilution.

Children

Only use on children under 6 years of age after consulting a doctor.

Elderly people

No restrictions for elderly people.

Pregnancy

There is no evidence that the use of Retterspitz Äußerlich will disrupt the normal course of pregnancy or that it could harm the unborn child. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before use.

Breastfeeding

There is no evidence or knowledge that the use of Retterspitz Äußerlich during breastfeeding will cause any disruption.

Driving and operating machinery

No special precautions are required.

Wound healing

In the case of supportive physical therapy for wound healing, the wound must first be cleaned and sealed with a suitable, waterproof wound dressing. Suitable wound dressings include, for example, hydrocolloid dressings, adhesive and non-adhesive foam dressings, film dressings and shower plasters. Retterspitz Äußerlich must not come into direct contact with the open wound. The wound should be cleaned and dressed by trained personnel if possible. A Retterspitz wrap is then applied over the wound dressing.

Important warnings

No important warnings are known for specific ingredients of Retterspitz Äußerlich.

How is Retterspitz Äußerlich to be used?
Always use Retterspitz Äußerlich exactly as described in this package leaflet. Duration of use 1.5 to 2 hours. The application can be repeated several times a day, as required, until the symptoms subside. First mix Retterspitz Äußerlich with fresh water in equal parts in a bowl. The quantities depend on the size of the wrap or textile. Please refer to the wrap description of the corresponding wrap textile or our website www.retterspitz.de, section Wraps, for the exact quantities. Soak the wrap's linen cloth in the mixture and place it on the affected area of the body. Pull tight and place the dry flannel cloth over it. Pull tight again and fasten with the Velcro fasteners.

Application Retterspitz Wet Socks

Soak inner socks in a mixture of fresh water and Retterspitz Äußerlich, wring them out and pull them over both legs. Put on dry woollen socks over them.

What side effects are possible?
In persons with high allergic potential, skin irritations (redness, itching) can occur in very rare cases. If side effects are suspected, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.

How is Retterspitz Äußerlich to be stored?
Please keep Retterspitz Äußerlich out of reach of children. Irregular ingestion by adults, children or toddlers is harmless, even if the sour taste triggers a kind of gag reflex. You must not use Retterspitz Äußerlich after the expiry date stated on the container.

Note on opening

Store the opened bottle carefully sealed at no more than +25°C, preferably in the refrigerator. The opening should be used up within 12 weeks.

Storage conditions

Do not store above +25°C. No special further requirements for storage.

Other information

If a bottle is difficult to open, please proceed as follows: Immerse the bottle, with the cap pointing downwards, in approx. +50°C warm water for a few minutes. It should then be easy to open.
