aldiamed Mouth Gel with saliva supplement
Pleasant freshness - instead of a dry mouth

Please read the instructions for use carefully.

Field of application

aldiamed Mouth Gel is a long-lasting moisturising gel for the treatment of dry mouth (xerostomia). aldiamed Mouth Gel is also suitable for diabetics and for wearers of dentures.

Mode of action

aldiamed Mouth Gel provides a pleasant, long-lasting moisturisation in the mouth. It prevents inflammation in the oral cavity. The pleasantly viscous consistency ensures that the mouth gel adheres to the oral mucosa like a protective film for a long time and protects it very well from drying out, even at night.

Causes of dry mouth

The intensity of saliva production varies from person to person and usually decreases with age. It is subject to fluctuations, which can be due to a severe lack of fluids (insufficient drinking), for example. In addition, saliva can be reduced by diseases such as diabetes mellitus or Sjögren's syndrome, radiation therapies, side effects of medication, reduced chewing and speaking activity, stress, psychological problems, smoking and mouth breathing (in the case of a cold or snoring).

The role of saliva

Human saliva is the natural protection of the teeth and gums. It contains various enzymes that act against microorganisms in the oral cavity. A dry mouth can be very unpleasant and makes it difficult to speak, chew and swallow. In addition, bacterial inflammation, dental problems (e.g. caries, periodontitis) and infections can develop due to the reduced saliva. Lack of saliva is one of the main causes of increased plaque formation, bad breath and gum inflammation. That is why aldiamed Mouth Gel contains the saliva component lactoferrin (enzyme), which helps to combat harmful bacteria.

Contraindications

Do not use if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients. Do not use on damaged oral mucosa.

Application:
  • as often as required
  • after brushing your teeth
  • after rinsing your mouth, e.g. with aldiamed mouthwash
  • and especially in the evening before going to bed.
You can apply aldiamed Mouth Gel directly to the gums or the particularly dry areas in the mouth with a clean finger or a cotton swab. To completely moisten your oral cavity, you can also place 1 - 2 cm of aldiamed Mouth Gel on your tongue and distribute it evenly in your mouth with your tongue.

Notes

The duration of the moistening depends on subjective factors. Low residual saliva flow can rinse the gel out of the mouth more quickly, just like eating, drinking, chewing gum or brushing your teeth. For a long-lasting effect, we recommend applying the gel after eating and drinking.

An overdose (more than one tube per day) may have a laxative effect.
