Replens sanol, moisturising vaginal gel with 3-day effect

Please read these instructions for use carefully before you start using Replens sanol.

1. WHAT IS REPLENS SANOL AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Replens sanol is a moisturising vaginal gel with a 3-day effect. Replens sanol relieves discomfort caused by vaginal dryness and atrophy (tissue regression) such as itching, burning and discomfort during sexual intercourse.

2. HOW DOES REPLENS SANOL WORK?

Replens sanol forms a protective film on the vaginal skin and thus provides moisture and lubrication. The gel adheres to the vaginal wall for several days, during which time the water contained in the gel is absorbed. The pH value of Replens sanol corresponds to that of a healthy vaginal environment.

3. WHEN SHOULD REPLENS SANOL NOT BE USED?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist before using it! Do not use Replens sanol on children. You should also not use it if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Replens sanol does not contain a spermicidal agent and therefore does not protect against unwanted pregnancy.

4. HOW IS REPLENS SANOL USED?

Replens sanol improves the condition of the vaginal wall and relieves vaginal dryness and atrophy (tissue regression). It should be used every third day, preferably in the morning. If necessary, you can use Replens sanol less often or more often, up to once a day. Replens sanol is water-based and is therefore suitable for use with condoms. However, it is recommended not to use Replens sanol immediately before sexual intercourse. Replens sanol does not affect the mobility or viability of sperm, so fertility is not reduced. Replens sanol does not contain hormones and can therefore be used together with hormone replacement therapy. Replens sanol is inserted into the vagina using a hygienic disposable applicator. The applicator allows the intended amount of Replens sanol to be delivered to where it is needed.

Instructions for use for Replens sanol - ready-to-use disposable applicator

Replens is inserted directly into the vagina using the specially developed and sealed applicator supplied. Note: The applicator is used to deliver the recommended amount of moisturising gel. When used correctly, a small amount of gel will remain in the applicator after use. Dispose of this excess gel together with the applicator.

1. Remove the applicator from the sealed packaging. Do NOT remove the tip of the applicator at this stage. Hold the applicator firmly at its thicker end. Shake it vertically downwards so that the contents of the applicator can reach its thin end.
2. Unscrew the cap of the applicator and discard it.
3. While sitting, standing or lying on your back with your knees drawn up, carefully insert the open end of the applicator as deeply as possible into the vagina.
4. Press firmly on the thicker end of the applicator to allow the gel to escape. Then pull the applicator out of the vagina and discard it.

The Replens sanol applicators are for single use only. For your own protection, do not use the applicator twice, as reusability has not been investigated.

Safety packaging: For your own protection, each applicator has its own packaging. For your own safety, do NOT use this product if the packaging labelled "Replens" is damaged or missing. Return the entire contents of the package, including the receipt, to the place where you purchased the product.

5. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

In some cases, a whitish discharge, which may be dry or crumbly, may occur a few days after starting initial treatment with Replens sanol. The vagina normally cleanses itself. However, if it is dry for a period of time, dead cells can accumulate. Replens sanol adheres to these cells and transports them out. With continued treatment with Replens sanol, the vaginal environment normalises and the discharge gradually diminishes. If vaginal irritation occurs, discontinue treatment. If the symptoms persist, consult your doctor. If you notice any other unpleasant effects, please speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

6. HOW SHOULD REPLENS SANOL BE STORED?

Do not store above 30°C! Do not refrigerate or freeze! If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor before using it! Keep out of reach of children! Do not use on children! Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging or applicator!

7. INGREDIENTS

Purified water, polycarbophil, liquid paraffin, glycerol, hydrogenated palm oil glyceride, carbomer homopolymer type B, sorbic acid and sodium hydroxide. Replens sanol is a soft, white vaginal gel.

8. DOSAGE FORM AND CONTENTS

Replens sanol is available in packs of 3 or 9 applicators for vaginal use.
