Active ingredients: Magnesium hydrogen phosphate trihydrate and magnesium citrate 14 H20 corresponding to magnesium 48.6 mg

Read the entire package leaflet carefully because it contains important information for you. This medicine is available without a prescription. However, to achieve the best possible treatment results, magnerot N Magnesium tablets must be used as directed.

1. WHAT IS MAGNEROT N MAGNESIUM TABLETS AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

magnerot N Magnesium tablets is a mineral supplement.

Indications

magnerot N Magnesium tablets is used for:

• Magnesium deficiency conditions that cannot be corrected through diet.
• proven magnesium deficiency, if it is the cause of muscle activity disorders (neuromuscular disorders, calf cramps).

2. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE TAKING MAGNEROT N MAGNESIUM TABLETS?

magnerot N Magnesium tablets must not be taken:

• if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of magnerot N Magnesium tablets.
• in case of impaired renal function, disorders of the conduction system in the heart (AV block) and muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis).

Special care must be taken when taking magnerot N Magnesium tablets:

• Children: No special precautions are necessary.
• Elderly people: No special precautions are necessary.

• Warning

  Illnesses attributed to magnesium deficiency can also have other causes. If taking the medicine does not have any effect, you should see your doctor in case of serious complaints.

When taking magnerot N Magnesium tablets with other medicines

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using or have recently taken/used any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines. Magnesium preparations should not be taken at the same time as tetracyclines and sodium fluoride, as there is a mutual inhibition of absorption (resorption). If iron is taken at the same time, it should be noted that magnesium can interfere with the absorption of iron. In this case, an interval of 2 - 3 hours should be observed between taking the magnesium and iron preparations.

When taking magnerot N Magnesium tablets with food and drink

Alcohol promotes the excretion of magnesium and inhibits its absorption (resorption) into the body and should therefore be avoided during therapy with magnerot N Magnesium tablets.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using any medicine. There is no evidence of harmful effects during pregnancy. When used as directed, magnerot N Magnesium tablets can be used during pregnancy. There is no evidence of harmful effects during breast-feeding. When used as directed, magnerot N Magnesium tablets can be used during breast-feeding.

Driving and using machines

No special precautions are necessary.

Important information about certain other ingredients of magnerot N Magnesium tablets

This medicine contains lactose. Therefore, please only take magnerot N Magnesium tablets after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from an intolerance to certain sugars.

3. HOW TO TAKE MAGNEROT N MAGNESIUM TABLETS?

Always take magnerot N Magnesium tablets exactly as described in this leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is: The dosage depends on the severity of the magnesium deficiency. To replenish magnesium stores, take 3 tablets 3 times a day for one week, then as a maintenance dose 1 - 3 tablets 3 times a day.

Method of administration

The tablets should be taken with liquid before or with meals.

Duration of use

The duration of use should be at least 6 weeks. magnerot N Magnesium tablets can also be taken over a long period of time.

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of magnerot N Magnesium tablets is too strong or too weak.

Illnesses attributed to magnesium deficiency can also have other causes. If taking the medicine does not have any effect, you should see your doctor in case of serious complaints.

If you have taken more magnerot N Magnesium tablets than you should

No signs of poisoning are to be expected when taking magnesium if renal function is normal. However, diarrhoea may occur, which can be remedied by reducing the dose or discontinuing the preparation.

If you forget to take magnerot N Magnesium tablets

Take magnerot N Magnesium tablets as usual at the usual times and remember to take it regularly in the future.

If you stop taking magnerot N Magnesium tablets

To achieve a successful treatment, magnerot N Magnesium tablets should be taken as regularly as possible. If you wish to interrupt or prematurely terminate treatment, please talk to your doctor.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, magnerot N Magnesium tablets can have side effects, although not everybody gets them.

The following frequency information is used to evaluate side effects:
Very common:	more than 1 in 10 treated persons
Common:	1 to 10 in 100 treated persons
Uncommon:	1 to 10 in 1,000 treated persons
Rare:	1 to 10 in 10,000 treated persons
Very rare:	less than 1 in 10,000 treated persons
Not known:	frequency cannot be estimated from the available data.

Possible side effects

In rare cases, treatment with magnerot N Magnesium tablets may cause fatigue and loose stools to diarrhoea at higher doses.

Countermeasures

Therapy should be temporarily interrupted and can be resumed at a reduced dose after improvement or disappearance of symptoms.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects not listed in this leaflet. 5. HOW TO STORE MAGNEROT N MAGNESIUM TABLETS?

Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the container (blister/can) and the folding box. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month. Shelf life of the opened can: After first opening the can, the contents can be stored for 1 year. Storage conditions: No special storage conditions are required for this medicine. Keep the opened can tightly closed to protect the contents from moisture.

What magnerot N Magnesium tablets contains

The active ingredients are: 1 tablet contains: 286.6 mg magnesium hydrogen phosphate trihydrate 83.1 mg magnesium citrate 14 H20, magnesium content: 48.6 mg = 2 mmol = 4 mval. The other ingredients are: Povidone (K 30), highly dispersed silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, talc, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.), sodium cyclamate, corn starch, carmellose sodium, long-chain partial glycerides. Gluten-free, contains lactose.

What magnerot N Magnesium tablets looks like and contents of the pack

magnerot N Magnesium tablets are available in packs of 50 tablets (N1), 100 tablets (N2), 200 tablets (N3) and 1000 tablets. The pack size of 1000 tablets is available as a bundle pack (5 x 200 tablets) or as a can.
