The Natural Cheese Dairy TegernseerLand

Milk & Cheese from the Happiest Cows
The Naturkäserei TegernseerLand is located in the idyllic mountaineering village of Kreuth, directly at one of the popular Munich local mountains, the Wallberg, and on the shore of Lake Tegernsee. Could there be a better area to produce delicious cheese and fresh milk? We dream ourselves into the lush green meadows while enjoying a hearty snack with the spicy TegernseerLand Bergkas.

In the Name of Fresh Milk
The Naturkäserei TegernseerLand has existed since 2007, when several farmers formed a cooperative to manage the quality, refinement, and marketing of their milk themselves, as at the time the reputation and price of milk were poor. The cooperative now has a total of 1729 shareholders. Together, the members advocate for preserving the agricultural structures of their homeland, promoting traditional economy, and achieving higher value creation for their products.

Historic Craftsmanship from Passion
One of the 20 farms that supply the dairy with fresh milk is the Schärf farm. What makes this farm special: The milk is pure hay milk. There is pasture grazing for all animals, the young animals spend the summer in the alpine pastures and graze on untreated meadows with a fresh variety of herbs, and the calves are fed with real mother whole milk. The farmer and his wife take care of the farm and livestock with dedication and are proud of their special raw milk quality. The dairy also benefits from this: The milk is freshly milked twice a day and delivered directly to the dairy - completely natural - and further processed into the high-quality products of TegernseerLand.

All for one, one for all
The farmers who supply the Naturkäserei TegernseerLand work with great dedication to return to traditional agriculture, for example, by considering weather dependencies in hay production. Even though these methods move away from some achievements of modern agriculture, the commitment to product quality and pride are at the forefront. The families Zehendmaier, Sixt, Schreier, Bauer, Kreidl, Bicherl, and all the other farmers are pulling together.
The more cheese, the more holes. The more holes, the less cheese.
No need to worry about too little selection or too little cheese at TegernseerLand, the dairy offers a total of 20 varieties, all produced according to a purity law, whether it's hard cheese, semi-hard cheese, semi-soft cheese, or soft cheese. In addition to the various types of cheese, there is also organic hay milk, organic quark, and yogurt. There's truly something for everyone!
