Before using mosquito med Lice Shampoo 10, please read the following instructions for use carefully. If you have any questions, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition

Mineral oil, foaming agent, perfume.

Areas of application

mosquito med Lice Shampoo 10 is used for the physical treatment of the scalp in case of head lice infestation. When used properly, it kills head lice and nits.

Physical mode of action

The active ingredient in mosquito med Lice Shampoo 10 blocks the respiratory openings (tracheae) of the lice, causing them to suffocate. It also dissolves the protective wax layer of the lice shell and thus dries them out.

Contraindications:

• Do not use mosquito med Lice Shampoo 10 if you are hypersensitive or allergic to mineral oils. In case of skin rashes or redness, please discontinue treatment. Do not use the product if the scalp is very irritated or injured.
• mosquito med Lice Shampoo 10 is not suitable for children under 12 months.
• Due to lack of experience, we advise against use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Warnings:

• Keep out of reach of children.
• mosquito med Lice Shampoo 10 is for external use only.
• Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes (mouth and nose). In rare cases, mosquito med Lice Shampoo 10 can cause severe eye irritation.
• If shampoo gets into your eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water immediately.
• In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical attention immediately.
• Since some ingredients are flammable, people with treated hair should not be near open flames. Please do not smoke during application.
• It cannot be ruled out that mosquito med Lice Shampoo 10 may react with certain hair care products and hair dyes.
• Do not use mosquito med Lice Shampoo 10 if you are hypersensitive or allergic to mineral oils.
• If mosquito med Lice Shampoo 10 is accidentally spilled, it can become very slippery. It is best to clean the area immediately.

Storage instructions

Do not store above 25 degrees. Do not use mosquito med Lice Shampoo 10 after the expiry date.

Disposal instructions

Dispose of empty containers in the recycling collection.

Application

Treat the hair in three steps

Step 1 - Apply the shampoo to dry hair

The amount to be applied depends on the length and volume of the hair. Make sure that the entire hair, including the entire hair length, is completely soaked with the shampoo. All areas of the scalp must also be treated. Pay particular attention to the areas behind the ears, on the neck and the temples. Only where mosquito med Lice Shampoo 10 is applied can it work! Make sure that no shampoo gets into the eyes, e.g. you can cover them with a washcloth. Leave the shampoo in the hair for at least 10 minutes without covering it (no towel, cap or similar). This is very important for a successful treatment.

Step 2 - Rinse out the shampoo

Add a small amount of water to the hair and lather the shampoo. Then rinse the lather out with lukewarm water. Make sure that the lather does not get into the eyes. Rinse the hair thoroughly so that no shampoo remains. It is not necessary to treat the hair with a commercial shampoo afterwards. Tip: A conditioner improves the combability of the hair (see step 3).

Step 3 - Comb the hair with a lice comb

A lice comb is a special comb with closely spaced teeth. Start combing the hair with the comb directly at the scalp and comb it out strand by strand. After each combing, please clean the comb of lice and nits with a cotton cloth or paper towel. Make sure that the hair is damp during combing. Repeat the application (step 1, step 2 and 3) after 7 - 10 days!

What other measures should you take?

• All family members must be carefully examined for nits and lice and can be treated with mosquito med Lice Shampoo or mosquito dimeticon Lice Hair Fluid as a precaution.
• Wash towels, hats, pillowcases and other laundry that has been in direct contact with the head at a minimum of 60°C. Or use the mosquito Lice Detergent, which ensures lice-free laundry even at 30°C!
• Spray non-washable items (such as car seats, sofas, bicycle helmets, etc.) with mosquito Lice Textile Spray to kill any lice present, let dry and then vacuum.
• Kindergartens, schools and all contact persons in your child's environment must be informed. This can prevent the further spread of lice.
