If you are a fan of Whispering Angel – the popular, particularly dry rosé from Provence – then you have undoubtedly been eagerly awaiting the release of the 2023 vintage from Château d'Esclans. With all the characteristics and nuances of a truly exquisite rosé – it is pale and pure with aromas of fresh citrus and red berries, and it impresses with exceptional finesse, power, and acidity, as well as a silky texture and a smooth finish – this 2023 vintage is a must for your collection. Blend and Origin:Whispering Angel is primarily made from Grenache grapes that thrive in the warm and sun-drenched vineyards of Provence. Additional grape varieties such as Rolle, Cinsault, Syrah, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Tibouren are carefully selected to bring depth and complexity to the final blend. The grapes are hand-harvested in the cool early morning hours to preserve their delicate aromas. They then undergo a gentle pressing process to extract the vibrant juice. This juice is then fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, a portion of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation to soften the acidity and optimize the wine's roundness and creaminess. Color:Pale pink, but exceptionally light and very delicate in the glass. Aroma:On the nose, you can expect a taut, youthful intensity with clearly defined notes of red fruits like strawberries and ripe raspberries, which stand out alongside juicy, light honeydew melon. Taste:On the palate, lively notes of pink fruits and the freshness of melon contrast with a creamier, more structured, and fuller body than in previous vintages. In the mid-palate, there is a hint of grapefruit that, with a delicious acidity, ensures a long and lingering finish. Serving Recommendation:This special vintage pairs wonderfully with a variety of dishes thanks to its versatile and lively character. A refreshing acidity and fruity aromas make it an excellent companion for light and aromatic Mediterranean cuisine, such as crisp summer salads and light fish dishes. Style: fresh & fruityGrape Varieties: Grenache, Cinsault, Rolle, Syrah, Tibouren, Mourvèdre, CarignanOrigin: France / Côtes de ProvenceAlcohol Content: 13% vol. Winemaking:The fruits of this blend of various grapes, primarily consisting of Grenache, Cinsault, Shiraz, and Vermentino, are carefully selected from the best parcels in La Motte, Provence. The grapes are destemmed and lightly crushed at low temperatures to prevent oxidation. Vinification in stainless steel barrels helps to preserve the fruitiness of the wine, while bâtonnage – the stirring of the lees – gives the wine its character.
