The idea for the sustainable chocolate bar came to the three founders, friends, and industrial engineering graduates in 2016 in their shared apartment kitchen. The nu company develops products that combine enjoyment, function, and sustainability. The startup stands for natural ingredients instead of preservatives, plant-based solutions instead of animal additives, and real taste instead of synthetic flavors.

Nucao is the first chocolate bar for a clear conscience – for strong chocolate enjoyment without refined sugar and packed with the natural power of hemp seeds, almonds & acerola.
No Plastic.
All products come in a certified plastic-free, home-compostable packaging made from cellulose and paper. Printed with organic colors, they decompose on the home compost within a few months.
1 Product = 1 Tree.
For every product sold, a mangrove is planted in Madagascar. The concept is simple and effective at the same time, because mangroves are true CO2 killers. They bind almost four times as many emissions as other tree species. The reforestation partner Eden Reforestation Projects employs the local population, creating a new livelihood for people and animals on site.
