1. WHAT IS ZINKSALBE DIALON AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Zinksalbe Dialon is a wound treatment agent. Zinksalbe Dialon is used to support wound healing, also in the case of weeping or itchy wounds, cracks; use as a covering ointment.

2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE USING ZINKSALBE DIALON?

Zinksalbe Dialon must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients of Zinksalbe Dialon.

Special care should be taken when using Zinksalbe Dialon

When using Zinksalbe Dialon with other medicines

Before using other external agents (agents for external use), the zinc ointment must be completely removed (limited effect of other external agents). Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking / using or have recently taken / used other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

There is currently no evidence to suggest that use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is contraindicated.

Driving and operating machinery

No special precautions are required.

Important information about certain other ingredients of Zinksalbe Dialon

Cetyl stearyl alcohol and wool wax can cause local skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis).

3. HOW SHOULD ZINKSALBE DIALON BE USED?

Always use Zinksalbe Dialon exactly as described in this package leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is

Apply the ointment once to several times a day.

Type of application

For application to the skin. Apply the ointment to the affected areas of skin and cover with gauze if necessary.

Duration of use

The duration of treatment depends on the type and course of the disease. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Zinksalbe Dialon is too strong or too weak.

If you have used more Zinksalbe Dialon than you should

No consequences are to be expected. Continue treatment as directed in the dosage instructions.

If you forget to use Zinksalbe Dialon

Continue treatment as directed in the dosage instructions.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, Zinksalbe Dialon can have side effects, although not everybody gets them.

The following categories are used as a basis for the frequency of side effects:
Very common:	more than 1 in 10 treated persons
Common:	1 to 10 in 100 treated persons
Uncommon:	1 to 10 in 1,000 treated persons
Rare:	1 to 10 in 10,000 treated persons
Very rare:	less than 1 in 10,000 treated persons
Not known:	frequency cannot be estimated from the available data.

Possible side effects

Occasionally, skin intolerance reactions may occur. A slight burning sensation may occur after applying zinc ointment to severely inflamed areas of skin.

5. HOW SHOULD ZINKSALBE DIALON BE STORED?

Keep medicines out of the reach of children! Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the tube and folding box! The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.

What does Zinksalbe Dialon contain?
The active ingredient is zinc oxide.
100 g of ointment contain 10 g of zinc oxide.
The other ingredients are: wool wax alcohols, white petrolatum, cetyl stearyl alcohol.

Zinksalbe Dialon is available in packs of 25 g and 50 g of ointment.
