About Manufacturer
LEGO GmbH began producing molds in Hohenwestedt in 1958, initially in the basement of the German sales company. In 1962, the workshop moved to its own premises and became an independent company in 1964 as LEGO Werkzeugbau GmbH. Mold production included established elements and occasionally new products, with an annual production of 150 molds by 1980. LEGO GmbH focuses on sustainability: the molds were designed so that their components could be reused when worn out.
