True Gum's plastic-free chewing gums are based on natural chicle, which is extracted from a Mexican tree resin and used instead of plastic. The so-called "Chicleros" harvest the sap from rubber trees; a harvesting technique that has been used in indigenous jungle societies for centuries. Together with natural juice, True Gum sources only plant-based ingredients, which are better for our environment than those found in conventional chewing gums. After careful sourcing of the raw materials, they are further processed in the "smallest artisanal chewing gum factory in the world". They are carefully mixed, kneaded and stretched to achieve the perfect combination of texture and flavour. After 7 days of mixing, cutting, coating, resting and testing, the pieces of chewing gum are ready to be packed into the sustainable cardboard boxes.
