Description
The classic Red Ale is probably the most famous Irish beer next to Guinness. The beer goes back to a marketing ploy: When Smithwick's began to be exported in the early 1980s, hardly anyone on the European mainland could pronounce the name correctly. They looked for a new name and found Kilkenny. So the reddish-brown Irish Ale is now named after the city it originally came from.
