The red with a soft soul

The wine impresses with its dark, purple-red colour and unfolds a delicately fruity fragrance. Aromas of plum can be discovered as well as those of wild berries. In taste, it has a velvety soft character, it is sustainable and the fine tannins develop pleasantly on the tongue.

A classic that can be excellently served with hearty meat dishes.

In the home of the Weingut Wasem, the Ingelheimer Grund, the beginnings of viticulture reach back early into the first millennium. Since only particularly favourable locations and soils are suitable for viticulture, it was a privilege from the very beginning to cultivate vines and develop wines. The family dedicated itself to viticulture early on, for the first time demonstrably in 1726. Julius Wasem laid the foundation for the operation in its modern form in 1912. He set up the winery in the old noble seat in the Edelgasse and, as the first producer to bottle and market his wines himself, set an example for Ingelheim.

The sons were given the passion, generation after generation. It was not only about maintaining and developing an economically healthy business, the commitment always went a little further than pure necessity would have required. Always driven by a special feeling for wine.
