Guigal has its headquarters in Château d&Aelig;Ampuis, a lavishly renovated Renaissance castle from the 16th century. The company was founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal. His son Marcel Guigal took over management in 1961. Marcel is considered one of the pioneers of the region, who contributed significantly to the quality improvement of Rhône wines. In addition to his single-vineyard wines, Marcel Guigal pays special attention to everyday wines such as the Côtes du Rhône Rouge. Produced in large quantities year after year, this wine is an example of the consistent pursuit of quality at Guigal.
