Cookie Dough is vanilla ice cream with huge chunks of cookie dough and delicious cocoa bits In 1968, at the request of a fan, we tried to pack cookie dough into our ice cream - cookie ice cream was a radical idea at the time! Unfortunately, it wasn't easy for our ice cream makers to handle the huge cookie dough lumps. But: After 5 years of tinkering, we did it! And 20 years later, we also converted the cookie ice cream to Fairtrade! Enjoy! Ben & Jerry's - perhaps the best ice cream in the world, made in the nicest way. Because at Ben & Jerry's we take fairness very seriously. We support Fairtrade, a worldwide movement that ensures that small farmers in developing countries can survive on the fiercely competitive global market. We source ingredients traded according to Fairtrade standards - including sugar, cocoa, vanilla, coffee and bananas. Since you need particularly good milk for particularly delicious ice cream, Ben & Jerry's works with a dedicated group of family-run dairy farms in its Caring Dairy program to support their efforts for a healthy connection between the land, the animals and the people who care for them. The eggs we buy for Ben & Jerry's ice cream come from free-range hens. This ensures that the laying hens have sufficient space.
