Champagne 12.5% Vol.
Pinot Noir 45%, Chardonnay 37%, Pinot Meunier 18%
Bright golden yellow and fine, delicate mousseux beautifully visible in the glass. The first sniff reveals orange zest and very finely nuanced yellow apple fruit, followed by ripe mirabelles. And all this is underpinned by an incredibly delicate herbal spice, which makes this champagne from the house of Krug what it is, a unique piece every year anew.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and quite opulent, but without being overpowering, with white peach fruit, a hint of Nashi pear, and a racy, taut acidity that culminates in a lime tart finish.
Krug Grand Cuvée 171ème Édition is a blend of 131 wines from 12 different years. The youngest is from 2015, the oldest from 2000. Around seven years of ageing in Krug's cellars give this edition its remarkable expression and elegance. A total of 24 years of meticulous craftsmanship were required to create this Édition of Krug Grande Cuvée, which embodies the 171st interpretation of the most generous expression of champagne.
Every year since the founding of the House of Krug, a new Édition Krug Grande Cuvée has been released to showcase the most generous expression of champagne.
