Breathable, protective ointment for the external intimate area, for those prone to skin irritation in the external intimate area

Many women are familiar with these symptoms, but they are rarely discussed: The skin in the external intimate area - sometimes extending to the buttocks - feels sore, is red, burns and itches.

Possible triggers for skin irritation

A variety of factors can disrupt the natural skin protection in the external intimate area - especially if they repeatedly affect the skin over a longer period of time. For example:

• Bodily excretions such as urine and stool residue (e.g. in the case of bladder weakness or incontinence), vaginal discharge, menstrual blood and sweat,
• sports activities such as cycling, motorcycling, horse riding, jogging and marathon running,
• friction effects caused by tight underwear and clothing, panty liners or rough toilet paper,
• friction effects when skin rubs against skin,
• excessive hygiene measures, such as washing the external intimate area too often.

How Vagisan Protective Ointment can protect

Vagisan Protective Ointment has been specially developed for use in the external intimate area. The ointment is particularly soft, easy to spread and adheres well to the skin. Due to its composition, which contains skin-friendly oils and waxes of plant origin, it forms a water-repellent protective film on the skin and still allows the skin to "breathe". This way, the skin can be protected from irritating influences and thus from becoming sore in the external intimate and buttock area, without causing moisture build-up. Vagisan Protective Ointment does not contain mineral oils or silicones.

How Vagisan Protective Ointment can relieve skin irritation

If the skin is already red and irritated, applying the ointment can help to relieve the symptoms. The composition of oils and waxes of plant origin has a nourishing and slightly greasy effect. In addition, the ointment contains nature-identical substances that are also found in oats and chamomile. These substances are said to have a skin-soothing effect; natural ginger extract can counteract skin irritation.

How is Vagisan Protective Ointment used?
The ointment is applied thinly to the regularly affected areas in the external intimate area and spread. A pea-sized amount is sufficient for the front or back intimate area, for example. The ointment can be used 1 - 2 times a day, or more often if necessary. In particular, it is recommended to use it:

• after washing,
• after using toilet paper,
• around the anus BEFORE and after bowel movements,
• before sports activities.

Vagisan Protective Ointment can also be used in the external intimate area during menstruation.

Important notes

Vagisan Protective Ointment should not be used immediately before sexual intercourse when using latex condoms, because the tear resistance of latex can be impaired by the ointment. If symptoms persist, such as itching, burning, pain or a feeling of soreness, and do not improve with the use of Vagisan Protective Ointment, you should consult your gynaecologist. Slight oiling out of the ointment on the tube neck is not a quality defect, but a product characteristic - due to the addition of nourishing oils.
