1. WHAT IS SIDROGA COUGH AND BRONCHIAL TEA AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea is a traditional herbal medicinal product for dissolving mucus and relieving irritation in the case of coughs associated with colds. Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea is a traditional herbal medicinal product that is registered for the area of application exclusively on the basis of many years of use. If you do not feel better or even worse after 7 days, contact your doctor.

2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE USING SIDROGA COUGH AND BRONCHIAL TEA?

Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea must not be used if you are allergic to thyme or other plants of the Lamiaceae family, ribwort, marshmallow root, liquorice root or Iceland moss.

Warnings and precautions

Special care should be taken when using Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea:
  • in the case of fever, shortness of breath, purulent or bloody sputum, as well as in the case of complaints that last longer than one week or unclear complaints. In these cases, a doctor should be consulted.
  • if you are taking Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea, you should refrain from consuming liquorice-containing foods (e.g. liquorice) at the same time, as side effects such as lowering of serum potassium levels in the blood, high blood pressure, heart rhythm disorders may occur.
  • if you have high blood pressure, liver disease, severe renal impairment, cardiovascular disease or low serum potassium levels in the blood, as you are more sensitive to liquorice-related side effects. You should consult a doctor.

Children

There are no sufficient studies on the use of Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea in children under 12 years of age, therefore use is not recommended.

Use of Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea together with other medicines

There are no systematic studies with Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea on interactions. Interactions with other medicines have not been reported to date. Liquorice root can lower the effect of blood pressure-lowering medicines. Medicines containing liquorice root (and foods, e.g. liquorice) should not be taken together with certain medicines that increase urine output (e.g. thiazides), medicines that strengthen the heart muscle (cardiac glycosides), cortisone or cortisone-like substances, stimulant laxatives or other medicines that lead to electrolyte changes. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines or intend to take any other medicines.

Use of Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea together with food and drink

To date, no interactions with food and/or drink have been reported when using Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

The safety during pregnancy and breast-feeding has not been investigated. The use of Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea is not recommended for pregnant and breast-feeding women. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any medicine.

Driving and ability to operate machinery

No special precautions are required.

3. HOW IS SIDROGA COUGH AND BRONCHIAL TEA USED?

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this package insert or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is: Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over drink 1 cup 3 to 4 times a day, prepared from 1 to 2 tea bags per cup (a total of 3 to 8 tea bags per day). For drinking after preparing a tea infusion.

Preparation

1 to 2 filter bags of Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea are poured over with approx. 150 ml of boiling water and left to infuse for 10 to 15 minutes. Then squeeze the bag(s) gently and remove. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea is too strong or too weak.

Duration of use

Without medical supervision, the intake should not last longer than 7 days. In the case of persistent symptoms of illness or the occurrence of side effects other than those mentioned in the package insert, the user should consult a doctor or another qualified person in a medical profession. Medicines containing liquorice root should generally not be used for more than 4 weeks in total.

If you have used more Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea than you should

Overdose symptoms with Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea have not been reported to date. Cases of overdose symptoms have been reported in the case of long-term use or consumption of large amounts of liquorice root (liquorice). These correspond to the side effects described. If you forget to use Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea

Continue using as directed in the dosage instructions. Do not use double the dose if you have forgotten the previous use.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, this medicine can have side effects, although not everybody gets them. Allergic reactions (respiratory tract, skin) and gastrointestinal complaints may occur. Preparations containing liquorice root (liquorice) can lead to an influence on the mineral metabolism, especially in the case of prolonged use. This manifests itself in the form of retention of sodium and water, of potassium losses with high blood pressure, increased intracranial pressure, heart rhythm disorders or of fluid accumulation in the tissue. The frequency of side effects is not known. If you observe any of the above side effects, especially hypersensitivity reactions (signs such as facial swelling or itchy skin redness) or fluid accumulation in the tissue, discontinue Sidroga Cough and Bronchial Tea and consult your doctor so that he/she can decide on the severity and any necessary measures.

5. HOW SHOULD SIDROGA COUGH AND BRONCHIAL TEA BE STORED?

No special storage conditions are required for this medicine. Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the envelope/folding box after < Use by >. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.

The active ingredients are: thyme herb, cut, marshmallow root, cut, ribwort leaves, cut, liquorice root, cut, Iceland moss, cut. 1 filter bag (at 2.0 g) contains 0.7 g thyme herb, cut, 0.5 g marshmallow root, cut, 0.3 g ribwort leaves, cut, 0.3 g liquorice root cut and 0.2 g Iceland moss, cut.
