Where I come from!
Mangosteen originally only grew on the Malay Peninsula in Southeast Asia. For about 150 years it has also been cultivated on other continents. The mangosteen fruit tree has many names. Whether mangosteen, mangostin or mangosteen, all names are correct. The evergreen tree belongs to the genus Garcinia within the family Clusioceae and grows between 7 and 25 meters high. From the 8th year of life, the tree bears fruit and even throws it off until the end of its life.
Nutrient composition
Mangosteen is rich in nutrients such as calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium or zinc and also contains vitamin C, vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and vitamin A.
How to store me properly!
The fruit should be stored at a minimum of ten degrees Celsius for a maximum of one week. Ideally even at room temperature.
Intended use
Raw, the fruit is mostly eaten pure, in fruit salads or in yogurt together with muesli. Mangosteen puree is great for refining fruit desserts or smoothies.
