Product description

Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia is a ready-to-use, sterile isotonic saline solution that can be used for nasal cleansing and for moistening the upper and lower respiratory tract by inhalation. There is no age restriction for Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia. Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia can therefore also be used in infants and toddlers. Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia can also be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It contains no preservatives.

Areas of application

For nasal cleansing and moistening of the nasal mucosa.

Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia is suitable for daily cleansing and moistening of the nose in infants, toddlers, school children and adults and can be used in particular for complaints related to the following conditions and under the following conditions:

• Colds.
• Bronchitis.
• Asthma.
• Allergic rhinitis such as hay fever.
• Frequent stays in overheated or air-conditioned rooms.
• Staying in polluted environments (e.g. dust, smog).

Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia protects the nasal mucosa in both children and adults from drying out and prevents excessive mucus production by restoring the natural moisture content of the nasal mucosa. This supports the natural cleansing of the respiratory tract, which has a positive effect not only on inflammation, but also on increased dust and pollutant exposure (e.g. dust or tobacco smoke).

In infants, Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia is used to clear the nose of mucus and thus makes feeding easier and shortens the time it takes to fall asleep. Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia can also be used to clean the nose in infants and toddlers who are not yet able to clear their nose by blowing it.

Use of Kochsalz 0,9%

Inhalat Pädia for moistening the upper and lower respiratory tract by inhalation

Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia can also be used to moisten the upper and lower respiratory tract by inhalation using an electric nebuliser, e.g.:

• As an accompanying measure in the treatment of colds (e.g. cough or runny nose).
• In case of low humidity or after a long stay in air-conditioned or heated rooms.

Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia ensures sufficient moistening of the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract, thus preventing unpleasant drying out. This supports the natural cleansing of the respiratory tract, which has a positive effect not only on inflammation, but also on increased dust and pollutant exposure (e.g. dust or tobacco smoke).

Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia can:

• Be used without any further additives to moisten the upper and lower respiratory tract.
• Be used in conjunction with other preparations, i.e. Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia can also be used to dilute medicines for inhalation. When using Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia in conjunction with a medicine, always follow the dilution instructions in the medicine's instructions for use.

What do you need to consider before using Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia?

• Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia is not suitable for injection.
• Do not use if the single-dose container is damaged.
• Do not use if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.
• For single use only. Since Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia contains no preservatives, any remaining solution must not be used.
• If you are using Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia to dilute medicines for inhalation, you must first read and follow the instructions for use of the medicine carefully. The medicine must be intended for this dosage form. Please follow the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist.

How should Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia be used?

Always use Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia exactly as described in these instructions for use. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Application for nasal hygiene

Infants and toddlers:
1 to 3 times a day or just before feeding, put a few drops in each nostril.

Adults:
Use 1 single-dose container 1 to 3 times a day (maximum 4 times a day) as needed.

1. Detach a single-dose container. Make sure that the single-dose container is undamaged. To open, twist off the top of the single-dose container (do not pull).
2. Tilt the child's head back slightly and carefully insert the opening of the single-dose container into the nostril.
3. Drop the required amount of solution into the nostril.
4. Repeat the procedure in the other nostril.
5. Lift the child's head and wipe away any excess solution. Allow the solution to work for a short time before cleaning the child's nose.

Application for inhalation

Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia is intended for use with an electric nebuliser (ultrasonic nebuliser, jet nebuliser or membrane nebuliser). The nebuliser and nebuliser accessories (e.g. mouthpiece, mask) should be adapted to the needs of the patient (e.g. age, breathing technique). The instructions for use of the device manufacturer must be followed carefully when using the device. When using Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia in conjunction with a medicine, the instructions for use of the medicine to be inhaled must also be read and observed carefully before use. The medicine must be intended for this type of use and the dilution instructions must be followed. Please follow the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist.

Dosage

Inhale the contents of one ampoule up to a maximum of 4 times a day as needed.

Preparation and Durchführung of inhalation

The instructions of the device manufacturer must be followed carefully when carrying out the inhalation. Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia should be brought to room temperature before inhalation and inhaled at room temperature. The following are the individual steps for carrying out the inhalation.

1. Prepare the nebuliser according to the instructions for use of the device manufacturer.
2. Carefully detach an ampoule of Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia from the strip. Never use an ampoule that has already been opened.
3. Hold the ampoule upright and open it by twisting off the tip.
4. Pour the contents of the ampoule into the nebuliser chamber.
5. Close the lid of the nebuliser and start the inhalation according to the device instructions.
6. The inhalation should be carried out until the nebuliser indicates the end of the inhalation or until no more mist
7. is visible. The duration of inhalation depends on the type and equipment of the inhalation device and can vary.
8. Discard any remaining inhalation solution in the nebuliser and clean the nebuliser according to the manufacturer's instructions. It is important to keep the nebuliser clean.

Inhalation with the mouthpiece:

• Place the mouthpiece between your teeth and close your lips around it.
• Sit upright and relaxed.
• Inhale calmly and evenly through the mouthpiece and exhale through your nose after a few seconds. With mouthpieces with an exhalation valve, you can inhale and exhale through the mouthpiece.

Inhalation with the mask:

• Hold the mask over your face so that your mouth and nose are tightly covered.
• Carry out the inhalation process as described above.

Ingredients

Sodium chloride 0.9%, water for injections.

How should Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia be stored?

• Store at 2°C to 25°C. Protect from frost.
• Do not use the solution after the expiry date. This can be found on each single-dose container and on the folding box.
• Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia is contained in small plastic containers that could be swallowed by small children. Therefore, please keep Kochsalz 0,9% Inhalat Pädia out of reach of children.
