Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 350 g butter
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- Red jam as desired
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- 180g sugar
Additionally
- Baking paper
- Cling film
- Rolling pin
Preparation
- 1Sift the flour into a large bowl, make a well, and add the egg yolks, sugar, and vanilla sugar. Place the chilled butter in flakes around the edge.
- 2Quickly knead the ingredients into a smooth dough, wrap in cling film, and let rest in the refrigerator for 1.5 hours.
- 3Roll out the dough on a floured surface, cut out an equal number of rings and circles, and place them on a baking sheet.
- 4Bake at 180 degrees convection for about 10 minutes. Remove and let cool.
- 5Spread the circles with red jam, assemble, and dust with powdered sugar.
Tip
- 1Traditionally, Spitzbuben are baked with red jam. But try them with apricot jam or plum butter!
