About Manufacturer
LEGO GmbH began manufacturing molds in Hohenwestedt in 1958, initially in the basement of the German sales company. In 1962, the workshop moved into its own premises and in 1964 became an independent company as LEGO Werkzeugbau GmbH. Mold production included established elements and occasionally new products, with an annual output of 150 molds by 1980. LEGO GmbH focuses on sustainability: the molds were designed so that their components could be reused when they wore out.
