What is Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv?
Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv is a nasal ointment based on high-quality white petroleum jelly, subtly flavoured with ingredients from various essential oils. The active ingredient is the purely natural moisturising factor Natural Emser Salt. When applied to the nose, Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv forms a fine protective film on the nasal mucosa, which regulates moisture loss and makes it more difficult for pollutants to penetrate. The now gentle aroma gives a pleasant feeling of freshness without irritating the mucous membrane.

What does Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv contain?
10 g of nasal ointment contain: 600 mg Natural Emser Salt. Other ingredients are: White petroleum jelly, liquid paraffin, nature-identical flavourings (consisting of a mixture of eucalyptol, racemic camphor, bornyl acetate, levomenthol, chamomile oil), natural dye chlorophyll copper complex.

What is special about Natural Emser Salt?
Natural Emser Salt is a very complex salt mixture, which contains numerous minerals and trace elements that are important for the human organism (analysis data of the ions in g/kg: lithium 0.21, sodium 308.7, potassium 6.11, magnesium 0.291, calcium 0.016, manganese 0.0001, iron (II, III) 0.003, fluoride 0.078, chloride 188.4, bromide 0.202, iodide 0.005, nitrate 0.355, sulphate 9.24, hydrogen carbonate 474.4, carbonate 14.0).

When is Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv used?
Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv is used when the nasal mucosa, especially in the area of the nasal opening, is too dry and/or irritated, such as in the case of a cold and constant blowing of the nose, dry indoor air, increased crust and scab formation or even age-related dryness of the nose.

When should you not use Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv?
Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv must not be used in case of injuries to the roof of the nose and paranasal sinuses with accompanying rhinorrhea and in case of known hypersensitivity to the above-mentioned ingredients. Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv must also not be used in infants and toddlers under 2 years of age (risk of laryngeal spasm) and in patients with bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases that are accompanied by pronounced hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract. Inhalation of Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv can lead to shortness of breath or trigger an asthma attack.

What should be considered during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
Risks when used during pregnancy and breastfeeding are not known to date.

How and how often should you use Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv?
As required, several times a day, especially in the evening before going to bed, insert a lentil-sized piece of nasal ointment deep into both nostrils and distribute it in the nose by pressing the nostrils together or simply apply it to the inner nasal surfaces and the skin around the outer nasal opening with your finger or a cotton swab. Strong suction of Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv into the nasal cavity should be avoided at all costs in order to prevent the nasal ointment from being drawn into the lower respiratory tract. After use, the tube nozzle should be wiped clean and the tube closed tightly. Please also note that for hygienic reasons, a nasal ointment should always only be used by one person.

How long should you use Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv?
So far, there are no known limitations to the duration of use of Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv.

What undesirable effects can occur when using Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv and what countermeasures should be taken?
In individual cases, sneezing, itching or burning as well as irritation of the mucous membrane may occur. In patients with a pronounced hypersensitive bronchial system, shortness of breath can rarely occur reflexively. Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv can cause laryngeal spasm in infants and children up to 2 years of age, resulting in severe respiratory problems. In these cases, Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv should be discontinued and symptomatic therapy initiated if necessary.

What else should be considered?
The expiry date of this pack is printed on the outside. Do not use this pack after this date! Opened packs should not be used for longer than 12 months. Keep this pack out of the reach of children!

Emser Nasensalbe sensitiv is available in packs of 2 g and 8 g ointment in pharmacies.
