1. WHAT IS LEFAX INTENS LEMON FRESH MICRO GRANULES AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

This medical device contains simethicone, a substance
with anti-foaming and foam-inhibiting effects.
Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules are
used for the relief and symptomatic treatment of gas-related gastrointestinal complaints such as flatulence (meteorism), feeling of fullness, cramp-like abdominal pain, upper abdominal pain, belching and functional dyspepsia; for preparation of diagnostics in the abdominal area, such as endoscopy, X-ray and sonography.

2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE TAKING LEFAX INTENS LEMON FRESH MICRO GRANULES?

Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to simethicone or any of the other ingredients of Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules. In case of new and/or persistent abdominal complaints, you should consult a doctor so that the cause of the complaints and any underlying condition requiring treatment can be identified.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding

There are no concerns about taking Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as it is excreted unchanged from the intestine and not absorbed by the body. It is generally advisable to consult a doctor beforehand.

Use in children

Other dosage forms are recommended for children under 14 years of age, e.g. Lefax Pump-Liquid or Lefax Chewable Tablets.

Use in diabetics

Suitable for diabetics. The granules are sugar-free. Each sachet contains 0.1 bread units. (1 bread unit corresponds to 12 g of usable carbohydrates).

Important information about certain other ingredients of Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules

This medical device contains sorbitol. Please only take Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules after consulting your doctor if you are aware that you suffer from an intolerance to certain sugars.

When taking Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules with other preparations

Interactions are not known to date.

3. HOW SHOULD LEFAX INTENS LEMON FRESH MICRO GRANULES BE TAKEN?

Always take Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules exactly as described in this package leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Dosage and duration of use

The following information applies unless your doctor has prescribed Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules differently.

For gas-related gastrointestinal complaints

Adults and adolescents aged 14 and over: Single dose: 1 sachet (equivalent to 250 mg simethicone), total daily dose: 4 sachets (equivalent to 1000 mg simethicone).

For preparation for imaging examinations

Adults and adolescents aged 14 and over: on the day before the examination: 1 - 2 sachets (equivalent to 250 mg to 500 mg simethicone), on the morning of the examination: 1 sachet (equivalent to 250 mg simethicone).

Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules are intended for short-term use. They should be taken until the symptoms improve, but for no longer than 30 days. It is also advisable to seek the advice of a doctor.

How should Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules be taken?
Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules are taken with or after meals, if necessary also before going to bed. Place the granules directly into the mouth on the tongue. The granules dissolve in the saliva and can then be swallowed. You can drink some water afterwards if you wish.

What should you do if you have taken a larger amount of Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules than you should have?
Even large amounts are well tolerated, as the active ingredient in the granules acts solely physically and is completely inactive biologically and chemically.

What should you do if you forget to take Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules?
Continue the treatment without changing the dosage.

What happens if you stop taking Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules prematurely?
In this case, the symptoms may recur.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

No side effects have been observed to date in connection with the use of Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules. The active ingredient simethicone dissolves the foam in the stomach and intestines and is not absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, no side effects from simethicone are to be expected, even in large amounts. If you do notice any side effects, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.

5. HOW SHOULD LEFAX INTENS LEMON FRESH MICRO GRANULES BE STORED?

Keep this product out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the outer carton and sachet.

6. FURTHER INFORMATION

Each sachet contains 250 mg simethicone. Other ingredients: lemon flavour, malic acid, cream flavour, sorbitol, talc.

Lefax intens Lemon Fresh Micro Granules are available in packs of 20 sachets.
