Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm Active ingredients: Dexpanthenol. Areas of application: for supportive treatment of inflammations of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa and for the treatment of pantothenic acid deficiency states that cannot be remedied through nutrition, such as supplementation in chronic dialysis patients and paraesthesia and pain in toes and soles of the feet (burning feet syndrome) caused by pantothenic acid deficiency.

1. WHAT IS PANTHENOL 100 MG JENAPHARM AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm is a vitamin preparation. Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm is used in adolescents aged 12 years and over and adults for supportive treatment of inflammations of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa and for the treatment of pantothenic acid deficiency states that cannot be remedied through nutrition, such as supplementation in chronic dialysis patients and paraesthesia and pain in toes and soles of the feet (burning feet syndrome) caused by pantothenic acid deficiency. If you do not feel better or even worse, talk to your doctor.

2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE TAKING PANTHENOL 100 MG JENAPHARM?

Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm must not be taken:

• if you are allergic to dexpanthenol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6,
• by children under 12 years of age.

Warnings and precautions

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm.

Children and adolescents

This medicine is not suitable for use in children under 12 years of age.

Taking Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm with other medicines

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or intend to take/use any other medicines.
No interactions have been reported to date.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. The potential risk is not sufficiently known. Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm should only be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding after careful consideration of the benefits and risks, if it is absolutely necessary.

Driving and using machines

No special precautions are required.

Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm contains sucrose

Please only take Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from an intolerance to certain sugars.

3. HOW TO TAKE PANTHENOL 100 MG JENAPHARM?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this package leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Supportive treatment of inflammations of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa

1 tablet Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm 3 times daily (corresponding to 300 mg dexpanthenol).

Treatment of pantothenic acid deficiency states (such as burning feet syndrome)

1 tablet Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm daily (corresponding to 100 mg dexpanthenol).

For supportive treatment of inflammations of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa, allow the tablets to dissolve slowly in the mouth. For pantothenic acid deficiency states, please take the tablets with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of drinking water [200 ml]), regardless of a meal. The duration of use depends on the course of the disease.

Use in children and adolescents

The safety of Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm in children under 12 years of age has not yet been proven.

If you have taken more Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm than you should

No special measures are required if you take more tablets than recommended. If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Very rare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people)

5. HOW TO STORE PANTHENOL 100 MG JENAPHARM?

Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and container after "Use by:" or "Use by:". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated. Store in the original package and do not store above 25°C. Shelf life after opening: 6 months. Do not dispose of medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. In this way, you help to protect the environment.

6. CONTENTS OF THE PACK AND OTHER INFORMATION

What Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm contains

The active ingredient is dexpanthenol. One tablet contains 100 mg dexpanthenol. The other ingredients are: sucrose (see section 2), precipitated silica, potato starch, talc, gelatine, glycerol 85%, lemon flavour, magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.), saccharin sodium.

What Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm looks like and contents of the pack

White, round, biplane tablets with a break notch. The break notch is only to divide the tablet to make it easier to swallow, not to divide it into equal doses. Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm is available in packs of 20, 50 and 100 tablets. Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
