Stephan Rötzer, a Munich native and son of a fruit and vegetable merchant, was enthusiastic about Spain and its citrus fruits, which led him to found SanLucar in Valencia in 1993.  Since then, he has been fulfilling his dream and offering people the best fruits from all over the world every day. In 2004, he introduced the brand to Germany.

SanLucar allows the tomatoes to ripen sufficiently. The tomato fields are not harvested daily, but every three days, so that all trusses and loose tomatoes remain on the plant until their optimal ripeness.  The Caprese tomato is rather spicy/juicy in taste and is excellent as a salad tomato.
