1. WHAT IS NASENSPRAY-RATIOPHARM PANTHENOL AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol is a wound treatment medicine. NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol is used for the supportive treatment of healing of nasal mucosa lesions (nasal mucosa damage).

2. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE USING NASENSPRAY-RATIOPHARM PANTHENOL?

NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to dexpanthenol or any of the other ingredients of NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol.

When using NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol with other medicines

Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using or have recently taken/used other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines. Interactions with other medicines are not known.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

There are no restrictions on use during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Driving and using machines

NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

3. HOW TO USE NASENSPRAY-RATIOPHARM PANTHENOL?

Always use NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol exactly as described in this package leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is: NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol is sprayed into the nose one to several times a day.

Type of use

For nasal use.

Instructions for use for the nasal spray

Remove the protective cap. Before using for the first time, hold the bottle upside down and pump several times (see illustration) until an even spray mist is produced. The metered spray is now ready for use for each further application. Then insert the spray opening into one nostril and spray once. Breathe in gently through the nose during spraying. For hygienic reasons and to avoid transmission of pathogens, it should be noted that NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol should only be used by one person. After use, the nasal adapter should be wiped with a clean tissue, for example. Then please put the protective cover back on the nasal adapter.

Duration of use

NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol should be used until the nasal mucosa lesions (nasal mucosa damage) have healed. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol is too strong or too weak.

If you have any further questions on the use of the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol can have side effects, although not everybody gets them.

The following frequency information is used to assess side effects:
Very common:	more than 1 in 10 treated persons
Common:	1 to 10 in 100 treated persons
Uncommon:	1 to 10 in 1,000 treated persons
Rare:	1 to 10 in 10,000 treated persons
Very rare:	less than 1 in 10,000 treated persons
Not known:	frequency cannot be estimated from the available data.

Very rarely, intolerance reactions to the active ingredient or one of the other ingredients may occur.

Countermeasures

NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol should be discontinued if intolerance reactions occur. Please inform your doctor about this. No further special measures are necessary.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects not listed in this package leaflet. 5. HOW TO STORE NASENSPRAY-RATIOPHARM PANTHENOL?

Keep medicines out of the reach of children. Do not use the medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and the spray bottle. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month. No special storage conditions are required for this medicine. The shelf life of NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol after opening is 12 weeks.

6. FURTHER INFORMATION

What NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol contains

The active ingredient is dexpanthenol. 1 ml nasal spray, solution contains 50 mg dexpanthenol. 1 spray (equivalent to 0.14 ml nasal spray, solution) contains 7 mg dexpanthenol. The other ingredients are: potassium monohydrogen phosphate (Ph.Eur.), potassium dihydrogen phosphate, water for injections.

Clear, almost colourless solution. NasenSpray-ratiopharm Panthenol is available in packs of 20 ml nasal spray, solution.
