Ingredients for approx. 20 pieces

  • 100 g soft dates or alternatively date paste
  • 250 g flour (wheat type 405 or spelt type 630)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 125 g cold butter in small cubes
  • 1 pinch of vanilla (ground)
  • 1 small pinch of salt
  • 2–3 tbsp milk (only if the dough is too dry)
  • 100 g Freche Freunde Creamy Hazelnut-Cocoa Cream

Preparation

    1. Finely purée dates into a paste. Soak harder dates in warm water for about 10 minutes beforehand.

    2. Sift flour and baking powder, knead in vanilla, salt, butter cubes, and date mixture. If necessary, incorporate 1–2 tbsp milk (if the dough is too crumbly).

    3. Cover the dough and chill for at least 30 minutes.

    4. Preheat oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat. Roll out the dough, cut out cookies, and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

    5. Optionally, brush half of the cookies with milk and sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts.

    6. Bake for 8–12 minutes, then let cool completely.
