Ingredients for approx. 20 pieces
- 100 g soft dates or alternatively date paste
- 250 g flour (wheat type 405 or spelt type 630)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 125 g cold butter in small cubes
- 1 pinch of vanilla (ground)
- 1 small pinch of salt
- 2–3 tbsp milk (only if the dough is too dry)
- 100 g Freche Freunde Creamy Hazelnut-Cocoa Cream
Preparation
- 11. Finely purée dates into a paste. Soak harder dates in warm water for about 10 minutes beforehand.
- 22. Sift flour and baking powder, knead in vanilla, salt, butter cubes, and date mixture. If necessary, incorporate 1–2 tbsp milk (if the dough is too crumbly).
- 33. Cover the dough and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- 44. Preheat oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat. Roll out the dough, cut out cookies, and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 55. Optionally, brush half of the cookies with milk and sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts.
- 66. Bake for 8–12 minutes, then let cool completely.
