♻️ Upcycling

Do you know what the biggest sin in the kitchen is? Throwing away something great just because it didn't win a beauty pageant or was left over from making something else. At Knuspr, we love breathing new life into these ingredients. As the very first European food retailer, we have launched our own upcycling category. We simply take surpluses that would otherwise end up in the bin and transform them into brand new, high-quality products. We reduce waste and give food its value back. Simple. Delicious. With respect for nature.

And what exactly is upcycling?

Recycling, Upcycling and Downcycling. Perhaps you've heard these terms before, but what do they actually mean? Let's unravel them! Recycling is the process where waste materials are transformed back into the same raw materials, which are then used to produce new products, such as aluminum cans. Upcycling is like Cinderella's transformation into a princess. Waste is turned into something even better and more creative. Downcycling, on the other hand, is a somewhat sadder story. High-quality material becomes something less valuable. Our goal is to explain these terms so you know what's what and how they help our planet!
