Active ingredients: Macrogol (13.125g) + Inulin + Electrolytes

1. WHAT IS THE SCOPE OF APPLICATION OF LAXATAN M?

Laxatan M is used for the symptomatic treatment of (chronic) constipation (obstipation).

2. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO CONSIDER BEFORE TAKING LAXATAN M?

Laxatan M must not be taken:

• in case of intestinal obstruction.
• an acute inflammatory bowel disease (e.g. Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).
• in case of unclear abdominal pain or impending intestinal perforation.
• in case of acute dilation of the intestinal wall (toxic megacolon)

What else do you need to watch out for?

Children and adolescents under 16 years of age

There is no experience with the use of Laxatan M in children and adolescents under 16 years of age. It should only be taken after consulting your doctor.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Pregnant women and nursing mothers should only take Laxatan M after consulting their doctor due to lack of experience.

Interactions with other drugs

None known to date.

3. HOW TO TAKE LAXATAN M?

Take Laxatan M according to the instructions for use in this package leaflet. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Dosage

1 - 3 times daily 1 sachet of Laxatan M is dissolved in a glass of water (125 ml) and drunk. According to individual requirements. For long-term use, the dose can be reduced to 1 - 2 sachets.

Duration and time of use

Laxatan M can be taken over a longer period of time or repeatedly. It can be taken at any time of day, regardless of a meal.

4. WHAT TO DO IF LAXATAN M HAS BEEN USED IN EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS?

If you have taken more Laxatan M than you should, please contact your doctor.

5. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

When using Laxatan M, occasional feelings of fullness, flatulence, nausea or diarrhoea may occur. After discontinuing the preparation, the symptoms usually subside within 24 - 48 hours. The therapy can then be continued with a reduced dosage. In rare cases, vomiting, involuntary bowel movements and pain in the upper abdomen occur. Headaches and dizziness are also rare. In isolated cases, allergic hypersensitivity reactions may occur.

6. HOW TO STORE LAXATAN M AND HOW LONG IS IT SHELF-LIFE?

Keep out of reach of children. The expiry date of this pack is printed on the folding box and the sachet. Do not use this pack after this date!

Composition of Laxatan M

1 sachet with 15.35 g granules contains: Macrogol 13.125 g, magnesium citrate 0.250 g, calcium citrate 0.125 g, potassium chloride 0.015 g, inulin 1.000 g. With lemon flavour. Contains 0.007 BE.

Dosage form and contents
Drinkable granules for dissolving in liquid (water). Original packs with 10, 24 and 48 sachets of 15.35 g granules.
