Nasal spray with sea salt solution for spraying into the nose

Composition

Hypertonic sea salt solution (equivalent to 1.5% saline solution), hypromellose, dexpanthenol, camphor, levomenthol, thyme oil, eucalyptus oil, mint oil, macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate (Ph. Eur.), sodium hydroxide, citric acid monohydrate, purified water. Without preservatives, without propellant gas.

Dosage form and content

Aspecton Nasal Spray with sea salt solution for spraying into the nose is available in 20 ml packs.

Areas of application

For supportive treatment of colds and nasal congestion. Nasal spray as an accompanying measure for colds and/or nasal congestion.

Contraindications

Aspecton Nasal Spray must not be used in case of known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients as well as in case of respiratory diseases that are associated with a pronounced hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract (e.g. bronchial asthma). Aspecton Nasal Spray should also not be used after nasal surgery or after accidents in the nasal area.

Use in children

Aspecton Nasal Spray should not be used in children under 8 years of age.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

There are no studies on the use of Aspecton Nasal Spray during pregnancy and breastfeeding, therefore only use after consulting a doctor.

Interactions with other agents

None known so far.

Side effects

Hypersensitivity reactions and increased bronchospasm cannot be ruled out. Note: If you experience any discomfort during treatment, contact a doctor or pharmacist.

Dosage instructions, type and duration of use

1. Remove the protective cap from the spray head.
2. Pump several times before the first use until an even spray mist is emitted. For all further applications, the dosing spray is ready for use immediately.
3. Gently insert the spray opening into one nostril and spray 1– to 2–times. Repeat the procedure with the other nostril.
4. For hygienic reasons, it is advisable to wipe the spray head dry after each use and to replace the protective cap.

Dosage for adults and children from 8 years of age

Spray 1 - 2 puffs of Aspecton Nasal Spray into each nostril several times a day as needed. Aspecton Nasal Spray can be used as an accompanying measure for colds and/or nasal congestion for a period of up to 14 days. If the symptoms do not improve within 7 - 14 days, a doctor should be consulted. In case of more severe symptoms that require a limited-time use of a local decongestant, it is recommended to continue treatment with Aspecton Nasal Spray for a few more days after the end of treatment with the decongestant nasal spray until the symptoms subside. If a decongestant nasal spray is used at the same time, Aspecton Nasal Spray should be used beforehand.

Notes and information on shelf life

The expiry date of this pack is printed on the outer packaging and on the container. The medical device should not be used after the expiry date. Aspecton Nasal Spray has a shelf life of 6 months after opening.

Storage instructions

Keep Aspecton Nasal Spray out of reach of children. Do not store above 25°C.
