Product features

Hylo Parin for moistening and care of the cornea and conjunctiva in case of irritated eyes with redness, burning and itching Sterile, phosphate-free solution without preservatives
Active ingredients: Sodium hyaluronate and heparin sodium

What is Hylo Parin?
Hylo Parin is a sterile, phosphate- and preservative-free solution for use on the eye.

Composition

1 ml Hylo Parin contains 1 mg sodium hyaluronate, 1300 IU heparin sodium (from porcine intestinal mucosa), glycerol, anhydrous citric acid, sodium citrate and water for injections.

What is Hylo Parin used for?
Hylo Parin moistens and cares for the cornea and conjunctiva and relieves environmental irritations of the eye. This alleviates the symptoms of redness, burning and itching.

When should Hylo Parin be used?
Burning, itching, watery eyes, the feeling of having sand in the eyes or dry eyes are symptoms of an irritated eye. You rub your eyes, but the discomfort remains. This is a sign that the eye is not sufficiently supplied with moisture. The surface of a healthy eye is covered by a smooth, even tear film that keeps the tissues fully functional and washes away dust or dirt particles. Certain conditions put additional strain on the eye and reduce the physiological functionality of the tears. These include staying in air-conditioned or dusty rooms, or intensive screen work. Tear production decreases with age. Hylo Parin contains the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the eye but also in other parts of the body. It has the special physical property of forming an even, stable and particularly long-lasting moisture film on the surface of the eye without being rinsed off quickly. This so-called bioadhesive property is supported by heparin. Heparin is also a physiological substance that is similar in its chemical structure to the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid. The sodium salt of hyaluronic acid and heparin care for the cornea and conjunctiva and, together with the natural tears, moisten the surface of the eye. The eye is supplied with a long-lasting and stable tear film and is thus protected from environmental irritations. Hylo Parin is preservative-free and contains physiological substances, so that it is generally very well tolerated.

How to use Hylo Parin?
Only use Hylo Parin if the seal of the folding box was intact before first use. Remove the cap before each use. To do this, hold the cap just above the bottle and pull the bottle away from the cap with a twisting motion with your other hand. Please hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing vertically downwards before using Hylo Parin for the first time and press the bottom of the bottle as often as necessary until the first drop comes out of the tip of the bottle. The bottle is then ready for use for the following applications. Hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing downwards by placing your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle and your other fingers on the bottom of the bottle. Support the hand with the Comod bottle on your free hand. Tilt your head back slightly, pull your lower eyelid away from your eye with your free hand and press quickly and firmly in the middle of the bottom of the bottle. This activates the mechanism for removing a drop. Due to the special valve technology of the Comod system, the size and speed of the drop is always the same, even when the bottom of the bottle is pressed very hard. Slowly close your eyes so that the liquid can spread evenly over the surface of the eye. After use, immediately close the dropper tip carefully with the cap. Please make sure that the dropper tip is dry. Avoid contact of the dropper tip with the eye or facial skin when dripping. 10 ml of solution can be removed from the bottle; this corresponds to approximately 300 drops. For production reasons, a small amount of liquid always remains in the bottle. The duration of use of Hylo Parin is not limited. The contents of one bottle of Hylo Parin should always be used by the same person.

What other instructions for use should be observed?
In the event of additional other medicinal treatment with eye drops, an application interval of at least 30 minutes should be observed. Hylo Parin should then always be administered last. Eye ointments should always be applied to the conjunctival sac after Hylo Parin. Due to its preservative-free nature, Hylo Parin is particularly well tolerated even with long-term use. In very rare individual cases, hypersensitivity reactions (e.g. burning, tearing) have been reported, which subsided immediately after discontinuation of Hylo Parin. In very rare cases, allergic skin reactions to heparin have been reported. Hylo Parin can be used while wearing contact lenses. We recommend waiting about 30 minutes after inserting contact lenses before using the eye drops to avoid possible intolerance reactions due to interactions between contact lens care products and Hylo Parin. According to the available findings, Hylo Parin can also be used in children, pregnant and breastfeeding women. If eye drops containing gentamicin are to be used at the same time, the longest possible interval of at least one hour between applications should be observed, as gentamicin can form visible precipitates in the conjunctival sac when used directly with heparin.

How often and for how long should Hylo Parin be used?
Hylo Parin should be dosed individually according to your condition and the recommendation of your ophthalmologist. In general, you should drop 1 drop of Hylo Parin into the conjunctival sac of each eye 3 to 6 times a day. If you use Hylo Parin more frequently (e.g. more than 10 times a day) and for more severe symptoms, have your eyes examined regularly by an ophthalmologist. Hylo Parin is suitable for long-term use, but as with all diseases, you should consult an ophthalmologist if symptoms persist (e.g. for more than two weeks).

When should Hylo Parin not be used?
Hylo Parin should not be used if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.

What instructions should be observed for storing Hylo Parin?
Do not store above 25°C. Hylo Parin can be used for 6 months after opening the bottle. Do not use after the expiry date. Keep out of reach of children.
