Combats head lice and nits

Dear parents, the following instructions for use contain important and useful information on what you should observe when using this medical device. Please read the instructions for use carefully. If you have any questions, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition

High and low viscosity dimethicone, medium-chain triglycerides, jojoba wax, fragrances (alpha-terpineol and boabo oil).

Pack sizes

Nyda express is available in pack sizes of 50 ml and 2 x 50 ml.

Areas of application

Nyda express is used for the physical treatment of the hair in the event of an infestation with head lice (Pediculosis capitis). When used as intended, Nyda express combats not only adult lice, but also the juvenile stages (larvae) and eggs (nits) of head lice.

Mode of action

Nyda express quickly penetrates all branches of the respiratory system of the lice and larvae as well as the eggs and displaces the oxygen there. This leads to their suffocation.

Contraindications

Nyda express must not be used in the event of known hypersensitivity to the components. If any allergic reactions occur, Nyda express should be discontinued immediately.

Warnings

Nyda express is for external use only! Do not use Nyda express if the scalp is injured. When using Nyda express, you should ensure that the solution does not come into contact with the eyes or the mucous membranes of the mouth and nose. In the event of accidental eye contact, rinse with plenty of water for 10 - 15 minutes. If irritation persists, please contact your doctor or pharmacist. Avoid inhaling Nyda express! It cannot be ruled out that Nyda express reacts with individual hair care products and hair dyes! Since some ingredients are flammable, Nyda express must not be used in the presence of an open fire or glowing objects! Keep Nyda express away from heat and ignition sources and do not smoke during treatment. Nyda express is an oily solution. If it gets on surfaces or the floor, e.g. through spillage or spraying, there is a risk of slipping. In this case, remove the solution completely by cleaning the affected areas immediately.

Side effects

In rare cases, allergic reactions may occur, which are triggered by an ingredient of the medical device.

Use in certain patient groups

Nyda express is suitable for all age groups and can also be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

General instructions for use

Please observe the following instructions to ensure successful elimination of head lice infestation. Before first use, the enclosed dosing pump is screwed onto the glass bottle. To do this, remove the screw cap from the bottle and screw on the dosing pump tightly. Always hold the spray bottle upright during treatment, otherwise the pump will not function properly. Please note that priming is required for the first use and after a longer period of inactivity. In the event that you want to store the dosing pump separately after use, we recommend pumping it empty and wiping it carefully with a dry cloth.

Special instructions for use for the 2 x 50 ml pack

The enclosed dosing pump is intended for use with both bottles. To change the bottle, place both bottles close together on a flat surface. Now unscrew the lid from the full bottle and put it aside. Carefully remove the dosing pump from the empty bottle and carefully transfer it to the new bottle. Screw on the dosing pump tightly and close the empty bottle with the existing screw cap. Remove any spilled product residue with a cloth.

Before treatment with Nyda express

Before treatment, the entire hair of each family member should be examined for lice infestation with a lice comb (e.g. Nyda lice and nit comb with metal prongs, available in pharmacies). To avoid re-infestation, all persons with lice should be treated on the same day. Otherwise, untreated, infected persons can re-infect a treated person. To remove any knots, the hair can be combed through with a normal comb. This must be cleaned thoroughly after combing.

For treatment with Nyda express

For treatment with Nyda express, we recommend placing a towel on the shoulder and neck area under the hair. Nyda express is applied to dry hair.

1. Spray the dry hair thoroughly with Nyda express from the roots. Spray the dry hair thoroughly with Nyda express from the hairline. The amount required depends on the fullness and length of the hair. You must treat the hair near the scalp and behind the ears particularly well with Nyda express, as this is where most lice and nits are usually found. Long and thick hair should be treated in strands.
2. Massage in Nyda express and leave on for 10 minutes. Massage the solution into the hair until the hair is completely wet. This ensures that all lice, larvae and nits come into contact with the solution and Nyda express can work optimally. Leave Nyda express on for at least 10 minutes. After this time, the lice are killed, so that there is no longer any risk of infection.
3. After 10 minutes, carefully comb the hair with the lice comb. After a minimum exposure time of 10 minutes, you can carefully comb the hair with the enclosed lice comb and remove the suffocated lice. To do this, hold the comb with the logo towards the head. Divide the hair into several sections and each section into fine strands. Comb each strand individually from the hairline to the tips, with the comb placed directly on the scalp. After each strand, you should wipe the comb on a paper towel to clean it. Important: Make sure that you hold the comb with the logo towards the head. Nyda express makes combing easier for you, as its special composition makes even long and thick hair very easy to comb.
4. Wash hair with a commercial shampoo. Nyda express can be washed out with your usual shampoo after combing. Any remaining solution after the first wash can be removed with another hair wash.
5. Repeat the application after 9 days (+/- 24 hours). According to the general recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute, the treatment should be repeated after 9 days (+/- 24 hours) to completely eliminate the head lice infestation. Carry out this second treatment as described in points 1. - 4. above.

What else should you do in the event of a head lice infestation?
To prevent the spread of head lice and a new head lice infestation, all family members should also be checked for head lice and treated promptly if necessary.

Storage instructions

Do not store above 25°C. Nyda express should not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging. Store medical devices carefully and out of the reach of children.

Disposal instructions

Any remaining product and packaging with harmful residual contents must be disposed of in accordance with waste regulations. Small quantities must be collected separately and disposed of directly to the local problem collection point. Empty and unusable packaging material for non-hazardous fillers can be disposed of via existing disposal routes for packaging.
