GOLDGEIST® FORTE solution Pyrethrum extract

Composition

(Extract from flowers of Chiysanthemum cinerariaefolium (1:2.5), adjusted to 25% pyrethrins with isoparaffin, extraction agent: 1) n-hexane 2) methanol/isoparaffin)

Chlorocresol 0.9 g
Diethylene glycol 40.0
Sodium lauryl ether sulfate solution 27%, Purified water, 2-propanol, Macrogol-6-glycerol-caprylocaprat, Isoparaffins (C13-C14), Fragrances, Quinoline yellow E 104, Phosphoric acid (for pH adjustment).

Contraindications

When should you not use GOLDGEIST FORTE?
Please ask your doctor if you are allowed to use GOLDGEIST FORTE if the following information applies to you: Known hypersensitivity (allergy) to pyrethrum extract or synthetic pyrethrins of the allethrin type, piperonyl butoxide, chlorocresol or any of the other ingredients of GOLDGEIST FORTE.

Do not use GOLDGEIST FORTE on infected or damaged skin, not on mucous membranes or in the eye area (e.g. in case of infestation of the eyelashes). Treat infants only under medical supervision.

What do you need to consider during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
Pregnancy: Animal studies have not provided any evidence of a harmful effect of GOLDGEIST FORTE on the fetus. Even though previous experience with pregnant women who have been treated with GOJ.DGEIST FORTE for head lice has not shown any evidence of harmful effects on the fetus, you should only use GOLDGEIST FORTE after consulting your doctor. In the case of body lice or pubic lice infestation during pregnancy, you should not use GOLDGEIST FORTE due to insufficient experience with large-scale use and possible local effects.

Breastfeeding: You should only use GOLDGEIST FORTE during breastfeeding after consulting your doctor.

Precautions and warnings
What precautions must be taken?
Chlorocresol can cause allergic reactions.
Avoid contact with the eyes, as irritation of the mucous membranes may occur.

Interactions with other drugs
A reduction in the effect of malathion is possible with simultaneous use.

How much and how often should you use GOLDGEIST FORTE?
Head lice: An important prerequisite for the proper effect of GOLDGEIST FORTE is the complete wetting of the scalp and hair. Therefore, the dry hair should be thoroughly soaked with GOLDGEIST FORTE according to its volume and massaged in. For long hair, the entire contents of an original bottle (75 ml) is required, for short hair about half. The liquid is left to act for at least 30 minutes to a maximum of 45 minutes. The hair is then rinsed thoroughly with warm water, as when using shampoo, and combed out with a fine-toothed comb to remove the dead nits. After 8-12 days, a check must be carried out to ensure the success of the treatment, i.e. to determine whether all lice and nits have been eliminated by the use of GOLDGEIST FORTE. If lice or live nits are found again, the treatment must be repeated. Due to the easy spread of lice, it is advisable to treat all family members with GOLDGEIST FORTE, even if lice have only been found on one person. Treat small children with a maximum of 25 ml and supervise them during treatment.

Body lice: Apply plenty of GOLDGEIST FORTE to the affected areas and wash off thoroughly with warm water after 30 to 45 minutes. Here too, it is advisable to repeat the treatment after 8-12 days.

Clothing lice: Infested clothing must be disinfected by suitable methods. To support this measure, the hairy parts of the body are treated with GOLDGEIST FORTE for half an hour in the manner described and then washed thoroughly with warm water.

All indications: Treat small children with a maximum of 1/3 of the bottle contents of an original bottle (= 25 ml) and supervise them during treatment. For pack size 250 ml, please use the enclosed measuring cup.

Special notes
The original bottles 75 ml and 250 ml are equipped with a child-proof cap. To open, the cap must be pressed down and turned counterclockwise at the same time.

The child lock is only effective if the cap is screwed on tightly after use.

Application errors and overdose
What application errors must you avoid?
Do not get in eyes or use in the area of eyes, nose and mouth. Multiple applications on the same day of treatment or daily applications over several days can lead to dry skin, itching, redness and increased scaling of the scalp.

What should you do if GOLDGEIST FORTE has been used internally or swallowed?
Rinse your mouth immediately with plenty of water. Inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately and show them the package or contact the nearest poison control center.

What side effects are possible?
Like all medicines, GOLDGEIST FORTE can have side effects.

The following categories are used as a basis for the frequency of side effects:
Very common:	more than 1 in 10 treated persons
Common:	1 to 10 in 100 treated persons
Uncommon:	1 to 10 in 1,000 treated persons
Rare:	1 to 10 in 10,000 treated persons
Very rare:	less than 1 in 10,000 treated persons
Not known:	Frequency cannot be estimated from the available data.

Side effects Skin
In rare cases, local skin irritation may occur, occasionally itching and temporary redness of the treated areas. Very rarely contact sensitization. Chlorocresol can cause allergic reactions.

Notes and information on shelf life
The expiry date of this medicine is printed on the packaging. Do not use this pack after this date! Protect from light and store below 25°C.
Store for a maximum of 3 months after opening.
