1. WHAT ARE MEDITONSIN DROPS AND WHAT ARE THEY USED FOR?

Meditonsin drops are a homeopathic medicine for colds. Area of application: The areas of application are derived from the homeopathic medicinal product images. These include: Acute inflammations of the throat, nose and throat. If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 days, contact your doctor.

2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE TAKING MEDITONSIN DROPS?

Meditonsin drops must not be taken:

• if you are allergic to Aconitinum D5, Atropinum sulfuricum D5 or Mercurius cyanatus D8.
• if you are an alcoholic (Meditonsin drops contain 6% alcohol by volume).

Warnings and Precautions

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Meditonsin drops. There is insufficient documented experience with the use of this medicine in infants under 7 months of age. It should therefore not be used in this patient group. In infants aged 7 to 12 months, Meditonsin drops should only be used after consulting a doctor. If symptoms persist, are unclear or new, or if you have shortness of breath or fever, a doctor should be consulted.

Taking Meditonsin drops with other medicines

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or plan to take any other medicines. No interactions with other agents are known.

Taking Meditonsin drops with food, drink and alcohol

The effect of a homeopathic medicine can be adversely affected by generally harmful factors in the lifestyle and by stimulants and luxuries.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Driving and using machines

Meditonsin drops have no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

3. HOW TO TAKE MEDITONSIN DROPS?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

• For adults and children and adolescents aged 12 years and over: In acute conditions, adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over take 5 drops every half to whole hour, up to a maximum of 6 times a day.
• For infants from 7 months to 1 year: Take 1 drop up to 4 times a day after consulting a doctor.
• For children from 1 year: Take 1 drop up to 6 times a day.
• For children aged 6–12 years: Take 1–2 drops up to 6 times a day (maximum 11 drops per day).

Type of application

The drops should be taken undiluted and left in the mouth for a while. The intake is independent of meals.

Duration of use

Meditonsin drops should be taken as early as possible. Use for more than one week should only be after consultation with a doctor or a therapist experienced in homeopathy. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Meditonsin drops is too strong or too weak.

If you have taken more Meditonsin drops than you should

In case of accidental overdose of the medicinal product, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea may occur due to the ingredients. In these cases, a doctor should be consulted immediately.

If you forget to take Meditonsin drops

Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take the previous dose, but continue to dose the drops as stated above.

If you stop taking Meditonsin drops

It can be expected that the symptoms will reappear.

If you have any further questions about taking the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Possible side effects

After using Meditonsin drops, salivation may occur; the product should then be discontinued. Hypersensitivity reactions (e.g. itching and rash) may occur. In this case, the medicine should be discontinued. Note: When taking homeopathic medicines, existing symptoms may temporarily worsen (initial aggravation). In this case, you should stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if any of the side effects listed are severe, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects not listed in this leaflet. You can also report side effects directly to the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices, Dept. Pharmacovigilance, Kurt-Georg-Kiesinger Allee 3, D-53175 Bonn, website: www.bfarm.de. By reporting side effects, you can help provide more information about the safety of this medicine.

5. How should Meditonsin drops be stored?:

Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label and carton after "Use by:". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated. Storage conditions: No special storage conditions are required for this medicine. Shelf life after opening: Do not use Meditonsin drops for more than 6 months after opening and do not store above 25°C. Do not dispose of medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. In doing so, you help to protect the environment.

6. CONTENTS OF THE PACK AND OTHER INFORMATION

What Meditonsin drops contain

The active ingredients are: 10 g mixture (19 drops/g) contains: Aconitinum Dil. D5 (HAB, V. 5a) 1 g, Atropinum sulfuricum Dil. D5 5 g, Mercurius cyanatus Dil. D8 4 g, Aconitinum ab D2, Atropinum sulfuricum ab D2 and Mercurius cyanatus ab D4 each potentiated with a mixture of ethanol 94% (G/G)/ glycerol 85%/ purified water (5:10:85).

What Meditonsin drops look like and contents of the pack

Clear, colourless mixture. Original pack contains 35 g, 50 g, 70 g and 100 g (2 x 50 g) mixture.
