1. WHAT ARE TONSIPRET TABLETS AND WHAT ARE THEY USED FOR?

Tonsipret Tablets is a homeopathic medicine for inflammatory diseases of the throat. The areas of application are derived from the homeopathic medicinal product images. These include: Acute inflammation of the throat and tonsils (tonsillitis).

2. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO CONSIDER BEFORE TAKING TONSIPRET TABLETS?

Tonsipret Tablets must not be taken:
  • during pregnancy and breastfeeding,
  • if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to Capsicum, Guaiacum, Phytolacca or any of the other ingredients of Tonsipret Tablets (other ingredients see section 6 Further information).

Special care must be taken when taking Tonsipret Tablets

If you have persistent, unclear or new symptoms, as well as a fever that lasts for more than three days or rises above 39°C, you should see a doctor.

Children

The medicine should not be used in children under one year of age. There are no sufficient studies on the use of Tonsipret Tablets in children under one year of age.

When taking Tonsipret Tablets with other medicines

None known. Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using or have recently taken/used any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.

When taking Tonsipret Tablets with food and drink

The effect of a homeopathic medicine can be adversely affected by generally harmful factors in the lifestyle and by stimulants and luxuries.

Important information about certain other ingredients of Tonsipret Tablets

This medicine contains lactose. Therefore, please only take Tonsipret Tablets after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from an intolerance to certain sugars.

3. HOW TO TAKE TONSIPRET TABLETS?

Always take Tonsipret Tablets exactly as described in this package leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is:
  • Children from 1 to 5 years: in acute conditions, do not receive more than half the adult dose, in chronic conditions, do not receive more than half the adult dose,
  • Children from 6 to 11 years: in acute conditions, do not receive more than two thirds of the adult dose, in chronic conditions, do not receive more than two thirds of the adult dose,
  • Adolescents from 12 years of age and adults: in acute conditions, every half to whole hour, no more than 12 times a day, 1 tablet each time, in chronic conditions, 1 to 3 times a day, 1 tablet each time.

Method of administration

Allow the tablets to dissolve slowly in the mouth.

Duration of use

Even homeopathic medicines should not be taken for a long period of time without medical advice.

If you have taken more Tonsipret Tablets than you should

If you take larger amounts of the medicine (entire pack of 100 or 200 tablets), persons with milk sugar intolerance (lactose intolerance) may experience gastrointestinal symptoms or a laxative effect.

If you forget to take Tonsipret Tablets

Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

If you stop taking Tonsipret Tablets

Discontinuing Tonsipret Tablets is generally harmless.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, Tonsipret Tablets can have side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Common: 1 to 10 in 100 treated persons
Uncommon: 1 to 10 in 1,000 treated persons
Rare: 1 to 10 in 10,000 treated persons
Very rare: less than 1 in 10,000 treated persons
Not known: frequency cannot be estimated from the available data.


Significant side effects or signs to watch out for, and what to do if you are affected

If you are affected by any of the following side effects, stop taking Tonsipret Tablets and see your doctor as soon as possible. He/she can decide on the severity and any further measures that may be necessary. In rare cases, nausea and stomach upset may occur. Allergic skin reactions have been reported very rarely. Note: When using a homeopathic medicine, existing symptoms may temporarily worsen (initial aggravation). In this case, you should stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if any of the listed side effects affect you significantly or if you notice any side effects not listed in this package leaflet.

5. HOW TO STORE TONSIPRET TABLETS?

Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the folding box and the container (blister pack). The expiry date refers to the last day of the month. Storage conditions: No special storage conditions are required for this medicine.

What Tonsipret Tablets contain

The active ingredients are: In 1 tablet are processed: Medicinal active ingredients: Capsicum annuum Dil. D3 75.0 mg, Guaiacum Dil. D3 75.0 mg, Phytolacca americana Ø 50.0 mg. The other ingredients are: Potato starch, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate. Diabetics note: Tonsipret Tablets contain an average of 0.02 bread units (BE) per single dose.

What Tonsipret Tablets look like and contents of the pack:
  • Packs of 50 (N1) tablets, 2 blisters with 25 tablets each.
  • Packs of 100 (N1) tablets, 4 blisters with 25 tablets each.
  • Packs of 200 (N2) tablets, 8 blisters with 25 tablets each.
Not all pack sizes may be marketed. Tonsipret Tablets are light beige, round, flat-faceted tablets.
