Brand and wound gel Medice

Intended use

For the treatment of 1st and 2nd degree burns (blistering), sunburn, abrasions and insect bites. For thin application to injured skin. Brand and wound gel Medice dries slowly. A breathable film forms, which protects the affected skin areas without affecting the drainage of wound secretion. The gel leaves a pleasant cooling effect when applied. It is therefore indicated for use in 1st and 2nd degree burns (blistering), sunburn, abrasions and insect bites.

Mode of action

Covering and cooling burn and wound gel, does not hinder the natural moisture exchange of the skin and wound.

Contraindications

When should you not use Brand and wound gel Medice?
In case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Precautions for use and warnings

What precautions should be taken?
Do not get in eyes. In the case of a larger and/or deep-seated burn, a doctor should always be consulted before treatment with Brand and wound gel Medice. If a burn or wound becomes red or swollen during treatment with Brand and wound gel Medice, or if healing does not start after a few days, a doctor should also be consulted.

Interactions

Which other medical devices or medicines affect the effect of Brand and wound gel Medice or are affected in their effect?
Please note that this information may also apply to medicines or other medical devices used recently. The release of active ingredients from other skin preparations and their absorption into the skin can be increased by Brand and wound gel Medice. Therefore, Brand and wound gel Medice should not be used together with other skin preparations at the same site.

Dosage, type and duration of use

Please follow the instructions for use, otherwise Brand and wound gel Medice will not work properly. The tube should be closed again after removing the gel. Please use only the original cap for this purpose. When using Brand and wound gel Medice, avoid breaking or bending the tube by rolling it up from the fold.

How much Brand and wound gel Medice and how often should you use Brand and wound gel Medice?
Apply Brand and wound gel Medice in a thin layer with clean and dry fingers, a plaster or a clean cotton swab. The tube opening must not come into contact with the wound. As soon as the cooling and protective effect wears off, the application can be repeated in the same way without further ado.

How and when should you use Brand and wound gel Medice?
Brand and wound gel Medice should not be used over a large area for a long period of time. The slow drying of the gel is desirable with this preparation so that the affected skin areas are protected for longer. On uncovered parts of the body, a wound dressing should be avoided if possible; however, it can be applied over the dry gel film if necessary. Clean wound conditions quickly develop under the smoothly dried gel, which show a good healing tendency. The gel film is air and moisture permeable. The clarity of the wound is not disturbed, so that subsequent therapists have full freedom of action for any necessary measures. Heavily secreting wound surfaces are cleaned with sterile swabs and then treated with Brand and wound gel Medice.

How long should you use Brand and wound gel Medice?
The duration of use depends on the development of the healing process.

Application errors and overdose

What should you do if Brand and wound gel Medice has been used in too large quantities (intended or accidental overdose?)
The gel can be washed off with lukewarm water.

Side effects

What side effects can occur when using Brand and wound gel Medice?
If you notice any side effects, please contact your pharmacist or the manufacturer. This also applies to side effects not listed in this leaflet. Brand and wound gel Medice is generally well tolerated. In rare cases, the ingredient Laureth-9 can cause a skin reaction, presumably on an allergic basis. If there is a corresponding predisposition, hypersensitivity develops within a period of approx. 1-2 weeks. The ingredient urea can cause short-term irritation on inflamed skin areas or weeping wounds.

What countermeasures should be taken in the event of side effects?
Discontinue use of the product. Consult your doctor.

Notes and information on the shelf life of the medical device

The expiry date of this pack is printed on the tube and the folding box. Do not use Brand and wound gel Medice after this date! After opening the tube, Brand and wound gel Medice can only be used for 12 months.

When is Brand and wound gel Medice no longer usable, even before the expiry date?
If the tube is damaged, the ingredients may decompose. Therefore, please do not use a damaged tube.

How should Brand and wound gel Medice be stored?
Do not store above 25°C.

Composition

Purified water, glycerol 85%, urea, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium alginate, Laureth-9, benzethonium chloride, potassium sorbate.

Dosage form and content

1 pack contains 25/50 g gel.
