1. WHAT IS ANGOCIN ANTI-INFEKT N AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Angocin Anti-Infekt N is a herbal medicinal product for defence against infection. The active ingredients are nasturtium herb powder and horseradish root powder. Angocin Anti-Infekt N is used for improving symptoms of acute inflammatory diseases of the bronchi, paranasal sinuses and urinary tract.

2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE TAKING ANGOCIN ANTI-INFEKT N?

Angocin Anti-Infekt N must not be taken:
  • if you suffer from acute gastric and intestinal ulcers and/or acute kidney inflammation,
  • if you are allergic to nasturtium herb, horseradish root or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.

Warnings and precautions

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Angocin Anti-Infekt N.

Children

Children aged 6 to 12 should only take this medicine after consulting a doctor. There are no sufficient studies on the use of Angocin Anti-Infekt N in children under 6 years of age. It should therefore not be used in this age group.

Other notes

For use in respiratory tract infections

If symptoms persist for more than one week or if shortness of breath, fever or purulent or bloody sputum occur, a doctor should be consulted.

For use in urinary tract infections

If there is blood in the urine, fever or if symptoms persist for more than 5 days, a doctor should be consulted.

Taking Angocin Anti-Infekt N with other medicines

The active ingredient nasturtium herb powder contains vitamin K. A reduction in the effect of anticoagulant medicines such as phenprocoumon and warfarin (so-called vitamin K antagonists) when taken at the same time as Angocin Anti-Infekt N cannot be ruled out. When taking the above-mentioned anticoagulant medicines (e.g. Coumadin, Marcumar or other products with these active ingredients), it is therefore recommended to monitor the Quick value or INR value closely or have it monitored and to consult the attending physician. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Only take Angocin Anti-Infekt N during pregnancy and breast-feeding after consulting your doctor. There are no sufficient data on the use of Angocin Anti-Infekt N during pregnancy. It is not known whether the active ingredients of Angocin Anti-Infekt N pass into breast milk.

Driving and using machines

No special precautions are required.

3. HOW SHOULD YOU TAKE ANGOCIN ANTI-INFEKT N?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this package leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is: Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 3-5 times a day, 4-5 film-coated tablets each (standard dose: 3 times a day, 4 film-coated tablets). Children aged 6 to 12 years: 3-4 times a day, 2-4 film-coated tablets each (standard dose: 3 times a day, 3 film-coated tablets).

Method of administration

Please take the film-coated tablets unchewed with sufficient liquid after meals.

Duration of use

The duration of use of Angocin Anti-Infekt N is not limited.

If you have taken more Angocin Anti-Infekt N than you should

Poisoning due to overdose has not been reported to date. If you have accidentally taken more film-coated tablets than recommended, this will generally not have any adverse effects. If you have taken significantly more than this, please inform your doctor. He/she can decide on any necessary measures. The side effects listed below may occur more frequently.

If you forget to take Angocin Anti-Infekt N

If you forget to take a dose or accidentally take too little, do not take double the amount the next time, but continue taking the next dose as prescribed by your doctor or as described in the package leaflet.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The following frequency information is used to evaluate side effects:
Very common: more than 1 in 10 treated persons
Common: 1 to 10 in 100 treated persons
Uncommon: 1 to 10 in 1,000 treated persons
Rare: 1 to 10 in 10,000 treated persons
Very rare: less than 1 in 10,000 treated persons
Not known: frequency cannot be estimated from the available data.


The following side effects have been observed with Angocin Anti-Infekt N:
  • Common: Gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, epigastric pressure, diarrhoea, flatulence or heartburn. In this case, we recommend reducing the dose. If the symptoms persist, you should stop taking the medicine and talk to your doctor.
  • Uncommon: Systemic allergic reactions and hypersensitivity reactions of the skin (e.g. skin redness with a feeling of heat, rash and/or itching). In this case, you should stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor.
Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if any of the listed side effects affect you severely.

5. HOW SHOULD ANGOCIN ANTI-INFEKT N BE STORED?

Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the container (blister pack) and the folding box. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated. Storage conditions: Do not store above 30°C.

What Angocin Anti-Infekt N contains

The active ingredients are: 1 film-coated tablet contains: nasturtium herb powder 200 mg, horseradish root powder 80 mg. The other ingredients are: cellulose, iron oxides and hydroxides E 172, hypromellose, potato starch, macrogol, sodium carboxymethyl starch, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, stearic acid, talc, titanium dioxide E 171.

What Angocin Anti-Infekt N looks like and contents of the pack

Angocin Anti-Infekt N are light brown, round film-coated tablets with a smooth, outwardly curved surface. Original packs of 50 (N1), 100 (N2), 200 (N3) and 500 film-coated tablets.
